Bodysnatchers' Huge Six Months
This Pozible campaign is to fund an epic six months in the life of our company. You’ll be supporting two shows in two separate states, over 184 pages of new Australian writing, 15 different artists, allowing us to travel over 1800 km, building our sets, printing our flyers and helping us buy a toilet.
THE SHOWS!
Number One!

Blood Pressure
by Mark Rogers
The Old Fitzroy Theatre
August 14th- September 1st
in association with Tamarama Rock Surfers
Michael is late. Adam keeps vomiting. Two men face off in a hotel room. They mark each other with new scars, while tearing apart the old. Blood is shed. This claustrophobic new play looks at the intimacy of kinship, the fragility of the body, and the phantom limbs of family.
Blood Pressure is a razor-sharp play about family, guilt and difficult choices.
Director: Sanja Simic
Lighting Design: Toby Knyvett
Sound Design: Tegan Nicholls
Dramaturg: Jennifer Medway
Producer: Melanie Carolan
with Wade Briggs and Alexander Millwood
Number Two!

Soothsayers
by Mark Rogers
13th - 16th September
Brisbane Powerhouse, Turbine Studio.
Presented by Brisbane Festival and QUT for Under The Radar
In a coup for Brisbane audiences, this play takes us across borders, war-zones and flooded cities where change is inevitable and trust is scarce. This world premiere production in three parts explores the emergence of new economies of power and the reverberating consequences of fear as a result of human action.
Soothsayers is a brave and uncompromising play that tackles massive global shifts.
Director: Sanja Simic
Lighting Design: Blair Dutney
Sound Design: Liam Halliwell and Jordan Thompson
Dramaturg: Jennifer Medway
Producer: Melanie Carolan
with Anthea Savage, Matthew Abotomey and Alexander Millwood (so far).
OUR COMPANY!
Bodysnatchers is built on the creative partnership of Mark Rogers and Sanja Simic. Uncompromising and aesthetically rich, our work is dedicated to engaging the imagination, senses and passions of theatre audiences, and to expanding the notion of what constitutes text-based theatre. We aim to work with challenging formulations of dramatic language, both new and old, to make sinuous, intelligent and visually stunning theatre that reflects (however fragmented) the world we live in and the people we are.
“if this is the future of Australian theatre, I think we’re in safe hands” – Gareth Beal, ArtsHub. Here.
HOW YOU FIT IN!
As an emerging theatre company, so far we have been funded solely by our own contributions. This makes the kind of opportunities we have in the next six months not only financially crippling but basically impossible. To build our sets, print our marketing, put petrol in our cars and afford the random, unplanned stuff that making theatre requires we need more funds. Our goal is to raise 5000 dollars, approximately $2500 a show. This balances out because Blood Pressure has a more involved set but Soothsayers is all the way up in Brisbane and, with both needing flyers so people actually know the play is on, this figure is a fairly accurate middle ground between what we need and what we think we can get.
To help us make this happen. You can do one (or all) of a few simple things:
Donate. Anything you can spare. We have heaps of gifts and incriminating pictures to help reward you for your heroic support of our theatre.
