OUR FILM
"The Man Who Could Not Dream" is a short film directed by Kasimir Burgess and James Armstrong and starring Geoffrey Rush, Alan Brough and newcomer Walter Smithers.
| Samuel survives his dull reality by escaping into a remarkably vivid dream life. Conservative parents and teachers punish Samuel for this and gradually he loses the ability to dream at all. Without his means of escape, Samuel grows into a desperately unhappy man. After being fired from his toilet paper manufacturing job, Samuel has a mental breakdown. Desperately he scours his life, trying to recall the last time he was happy. In a moment of insanity, or perhaps clarity, Samuel decides to recreate his childhood dreams. With terrifying consequences, we witness a desperate man's attempt to bring his dream world to life. |
The film uses a uniquely styled mash of the real world and the surreal world created using a mixture of live sets and visual effects to bring the story to life.
