The digital world is developing faster than anyone ever imagined. It's opening up new opportunities and challenges, and breaking down the traditional boundaries of business. It's no longer about where you work; it's all about who you are, how you think and what you can offer.
Emergence is a unique three-day opportunity to explore the relationship between technology, communication and creativity with some leading names in the digital and tech space.
Emergence is an anti-conference. Sure, we'll have talks and the odd powerpoint presentation. But there'll also be out-of-the-ordinary masterclasses, workshops and forums where you'll not only learn from the best, but also be able to network with creative people, techies, entrepreneurs and investors.
There will be screenings of some great creative work, collaborative sessions, beach breakfasts, live music, undisciplined surf comps and winery dinners all set in the stunning surroundings of Australia's South-West creative corner.
So if you work in advertising, film, music, communications, design or anything vaguely digital, Emergence is definitely for you.
Emergence Creative will run from Wednesday the 20th to Friday the 22nd of February 2013.
Event Structure
The event will run over three days and will host a range of plenary sessions, panels and masterclasses as well as social activities such as the Big Bang Breakfast at the White Elephant, Cape Mentelle opening night and the Collabor8 Session at Settler's Tavern.
Conference topics include: The Digital Debate, Mapping Social Behaviour, Navigating the Creative Planet, Startups: The Journey of the Idea and The Future of Film.
Additional Social Program includes;
- The Undisciplined Surf Comp
- WAM Sync to Swim Session
- Grand Finale Dinner at Leeuwin Estate Winery
Not-for-profit event
Emergence Creative is a not-for-profit event with all proceeds raised going towards the establishment of a creative hub in the south west of Western Australia. As a not-for-profit event, Emergence Creative is supported through its event sponsors and partners.
The proceeds that are raised through our Pozible supporters will go towards supporting the travel of international speakers to participate in the event. These international speakers include Moses Znaimer: Canadian Broadcaster and Media Pioneer having founded more than 20 Canadian TV and Radio stations, Mike Rosenstein: Producer at Ben Stiller's Production Company, Red Hour Films and Lars Rasmussen, Director of Engineering at Facebook and co-founder of Google Maps.
Where is Margaret River?
Margaret River is located 250km south of Perth, Western Australia. Originally founded as a small surfing town, Margaret River has evolved to become Western Australia's leading tourist destinations with a range of internationally renowned wineries, boutique breweries, and five start restaurants over looking the coastline and the scenic forrest of the area.
