4 til 4:20 Fridays is a radio play that was devised and written by stand up comedian, actor and producer Matt Burton during a year's creative sabbatical in Thailand. The series is set in the studio of a fictional town's radio station, Norah Jones FM - the only radio station where you are guaranteed to hear Norah Jones 24/7. Each episode follows two producer/presenters who host a show called '4 til 4:20 Fridays,' until numerous gaffes leave them on the brink of being replaced by a cat.
Matt has already put together a group of musicians, headed by fellow Tasmanian, Hiatus Kaiyote's Paul Bender, to write and record a soundtrack to the series. The next step is to record the voice actors, edit, promote and distribute the series - which is where we need your help. Matt has started assembling an incredibly talented cast, including Ted Wilson (aka European Man), Anne Edmonds (Studio A, My Banjo's Name is Steven) & Mick Davies (Unimanicorn, Local Laughs) and has his videographer Andy Johnson along to capture every magic moment along the way.
We are looking to raise money to pay for studio time to record and edit the series, to design and build a website to host the series and act as a platform for Matt's creative work, to help promote the series to stations and comedy fans in Australia and globally, to distribute the series on CD, to provide a nominal token of gratitude for the voice actors & musicians, as well as cover costs for the launch. It sounds like a lot, but every little bit will help!
