You’re a fan who has had their lives, no matter how small or large, influenced by the amazing and remarkable ideas that have been presented to you on your screens, in your toy-catalogues, on your super-Nintendos, and in whatever way that you could get your hands on anything to do with your favourite venture.

We would never want to change this wonderful cycle, it’s in our blood.

But we do want to bring it home.

_Space (Underscore Space) is our wormhole to creating such a universe. A series whose ancestors have grown to be a heavily influential part of our lives.

And we dream of creating something that might one day do the same.

We ask you to reach into your heart (or two if you’re a time lord) and join us in creating _Space.

_Space is a six-part live-action sci-fi comedy webseries, from the brilliantly brainy minds of Alex Giles and Matt Hodgkinson.

ABOUT THE SERIES

It begins aboard the starship Underscore,which has been left in charge of by two wannabe-star ship commanders, Rix and Terryn, whose bickering results in the disappearance of the Titania - a colossal luxury vessel to which they have sworn to protect.

Putting differences aside, the crew are forced to cooperate in search of the Titania.Hyper-drive is activated, and the Underscore is underway to find it’s missing 86,331 people before Earth finds out.

It’s an inter-stellar adventure featuring bold and brilliant characters living in a world stylistically similar to the 70s.

It’s a series inspired by the grit of Firefly, the hopelessness of Red-Dwarf, the luminosity of Farscape bundled around a proudly tasteful homage to the original Star-Trek.

It’s a brand new universe to explore, and it begins in your backyard. Will you join us?

WHY WE'RE CROWDFUNDING

Houston, we are ready for launch…

We have been working on this project for a while and are finally ready to begin pre-production. We have booked the cameras, created the set blueprints and reserved the studio space. With your help, _Space can truly get under-way.

In exchange for your donation, we have some inter-stellar prizes for you, like exclusive DVDs, premiere tickets, exclusive props from the set, guest appearance, and a galaxy more!

WHAT DO WE NEED YOUR DOLLARS FOR?

We’re not just making a film, we’re creating an entire world from scratch!

Your pledge will be going towards:

- High end cameras and production equipment for a sleek look

- State of the art Makeup FX for the Aliens, provided by The Makeup FX Workshop

- Construction of spaceship miniatures

- Costumes for Underscore crew (uniforms) and out of this world alien armour

- Hire of a sound studio for 2 weeks for the series shoot, as well as materials to build the set

- Wages for our cast and crew – the individuals without whom all this would not be possible.

This industry is really hard to break into, let alone make a living out of (many of us just eat baked beans and bread). We want to be the ones to start a change for filmmakers. Please support the Australian screen industry, and help launch the career of _Space’s up-and-coming creative talent, both in front and behind the camera. We are eternally grateful for any support from you, and you might just be eternally grateful for us producing awesome entertainment for you!

Most importantly, YOU are helping to possibly turn your magical dollar into four! We have been shortlist by our local arts funding body ScreenWest, which means if we reach our crowdfunding goal quickly, they may match us 3 to 1! It’s a race across the finished line, we’ve got our spaceship fuelled and ready to go, are you?

Plan B:

If we reach our crowdfunding goal, but there is no more available funds from ScreenWest, we will make 1 x reduced budget pilot episode. This episode will be used for other funding pathways to get the rest of the series made. Which means we will only be able to give you one episode dvd/fast-track episode for your generous pledge.

PLEASE NOTE: If we are too late to be supported by Screenwest, the full series screening tickets will no longer be offered as a prize.

Plan C:

If we don’t reach our crowdfunding goal at all, all pledges will be cancelled and you will receive your money back. We really hope this doesn't happen, because it means we won’t be able to make this web series. We will be lost in a sea of space forever...trapped in a worm hole for eternity. Noooooooo!
