Thank you for visiting Gold Coast Snow Park's crowd funding campaign. We are dedicated to building the world's first Outdoor Snow Themed Adventure and Training Park right here on Australia's Gold Coast. Our aim is to provide a park where anyone can turn up and have some fun without even putting on a set of skis or snowboard. Beginners can learn new skills and athletes can practice for and compete in competitions.

The park will be conveniently located in Gaven, just off the M1 and minutes from the new Parkwood Light Rail station and will take advantage of the Gold Coast's pristine surroundings and weather.

Since the idea of the park formed in 2015 it has gained support from investors, sponsors, community, council and even Gold Coast's Mayor himself. The park will be a world first, as well as the first outdoor ski slope in Australia.  To provide proof of concept, we have designed a 'Mini Park' to be built in the heart of Surfers Paradise. The Mini Park will provide a chance for all those interested to test the features of the Main Park as well as building a support base for the Main Park.

This is where the assistance of community members such as yourself can help. 

ABOUT THE GOLD COAST SNOW PARK

Most people don't realise that Australia has a large and enthusiastic snow community. However prices and location means most of us have to head overseas for our snow fix. The idea for an all season, artificial outdoor snow slope came about after our founder, Matt McCulloch, spent several years as a ski and board instructor, both in Australia and overseas, and noticed how popular they were in other countries.  He then got together with other fellow snow enthusiasts to form Snow Parks Australia. 

After comparing all of the artificial snow products we found Neveplast, the most versatile, safest, snow like and easiest to maintain surface on the market. One of Neveplast's most attractive qualities besides it's superior product, is the many other features they provide. Such products  as Tubby (a tube slide), Skiddy (Go-karts on ice), water ramps and air bag ramps. The idea was put forward to be the first in the world to put all these features in one location and create a Snow Themed Adventure Park for even those who don't wish to ski or snowboard.

The park will cater to all kinds of visitors with a restaurant, bar and night events. Entry will be free for those willing to just come down and spectate or have a dip in the water ramp's pool to cool off. The park's main goal is to provide a facility for skiers and boarders right from beginners up to Olympic athletes. Neveplast slopes are used around the world for athletes to train in downhill ski,  board racing, freestyle, aerials and many other disciplines which will also be available at the Gold Coast Snow Park. Which is why Australia's top female free-ride snowboarder, MICHAELA DAVIS-MEEHAN, is one of our directors and she can't wait to have somewhere to practice between seasons. There will be rental equipment provided at the park, but Neveplast is safe to use your own gear, you just have to remove any wax.

Neveplast is also a way for beginners to fast track their learning with first time users progressing up to 5 times faster than in the snow at a much safer and consistent facility. And, of course, seasoned veterans can use it to get their legs snow ready before their trip to the snow. There will be qualified instructors giving group and private lessons plus a retail store where guests demo gear before purchasing. The main goal of the park is to enhance a person's snow experience and not be a replacement for the real thing, which is why we are also working with some of Australia's premier ski resorts for sponsorship and reciprocal deals.

The next step was to find a location and with it's amazing weather, already thriving tourism community, international airport and proximity to a major city, the Gold Coast was an obvious choice.

With a site selected, the Mayor and Council on board, Corporate Sponsors interested, all that is left now is to build a sample park to show just how successful the park can be.

COMMUNITY BENEFIT

One thing that we at the Gold Coast Snow Park are very proud of is our commitment to the snow community and the Gold Coast Community as a whole. While all of our directors are avid snow enthusiasts, like most Australians, they had to save or get jobs in the snow to afford snow holidays. It's because of this that we have structured the park as a social enterprise, putting as much back into the community as it gives to us. 

On top of providing somewhere for future athletes to practice, the park is already working with schools in South East Queensland to set up snow sports programs. Many schools in Europe use Neveplast slopes for students to use as their sports education and the park will provide a safe, controlled and fun environment for local schools to do so. Who knows, in a few years time the Gold Coast could see it's own winter Olympian from the Gold Coast Snow Park. 

The park will provide jobs for over 100 employees, offering all types of careers, including lifeguards, retail workers, restaurant staff, instructors and lift operators. Opportunities for advancement and training will also be available for staff to move up through the ranks of the park.

The directors of the Gold Coast Snow Park are also dedicated to working with community programs, local and international charities once the main park is up and running.

THE CAMPAIGN

The main goal of this crowd funding campaign is to raise finances and support for the Mini Park to be built in Surfers. Funds raised from the community will allow us to show the support the park has and allow the most important people to the park, it's users, to have an input. The Mini Park will consist of the features in the above video: mini ice kart track, airbag ramp and tube slide. The airbag ramp can be used for skiing and boarding but riders will supply their own equipment.

"Pozible" donors have the opportunity to pre-purchase discount passes to both the Mini Park and Main Park, receive VIP membership and invites to opening day celebrations for both parks.

All donations over $10 receive a 1 year VIP Pass, $50 receive a 2 year VIP Pass and $100 a Lifetime Pass. VIP Passes allow the holder a 10% discount on all park products including passes, rental, lessons, food and retail merchandise. VIP's can also attend special events such as opening day celebrations and competitions that will be held at the park. A VIP holder will also get buy one get one free with Mini Park products.

Mini Park opening day: 

All VIP holders will be able to attend a 'donors only' opening day celebration. The opening day will have a free breakfast, refreshments and covered by local and national media. The attractions will be free to use for those attending and snow sports athletes will be demonstrating their skills.

Donations over $300 will also greatly help with both the Mini Park and Main Park with anything over $500 open to other rewards.

By raising $10,000 through crowd funding we will be able to show investors the interest in the park and finance the mini park. Extra funds will go towards improving both parks :

• $5,000 will allow a small ski/board test slope at the Mini Park
• $6,000 will be able to extend the tube slides at the Mini Park and add some humps for more entertainment
• $10,000 will upgrade the main carpet lift to a T-bar
• $20,000 will add 2 more tube runs at the Main Park
• $50,000 can extend the main slopes from 150m to 200m
• $100,000 allows us to add an Apre bar and BBQ's around the park
• $500,000 will install a chair lift to service the main runs and tube slides

The Gold Coast Snow Park's biggest challenge is NOT SECURING THE SUPPORT NEEDED TO PROCEED WITH THE PROJECT.

We have secured Investors, Corporate Sponsors, Council support and an appropriate block of land. All of these rely on just how much support the Mini Park can get from the local community, athletes and the snow community as a whole. 

The park will be the first in the world to combine all of Neveplast's features in one area and Australia's first ski slope able to train beginners, advanced riders, athletes and provide school sports programs. Being such an unknown provides the challenge of uncertainty to all those involved in the park.

While we at Snow Parks Australia know just how much potential the park has and the positive impacts it will have on Australia's snow community, the Gold Coast's tourism industry on a global scale, there is nothing to compare it with in Australia. 

The Mini Park was designed to over come this challenge and this campaign will go a long way to showing just how much support we have.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• Passes are non-transferable and can only be used by the person/people whose name is given at time of purchase.
• Multiday Passes do not have to be consecutive and can be at any time.
• All day passes to the Main Park include equipment rental
• If the campaign does not reach its goal or something unlikely happens to cause the park not to be built, all donations will be fully refunded
• The VIP pass alone does not include use of the attractions at the Main Park. While there will be no charge for entry to the park, purchase of a pass is required for the use of attractions and rides.
• One and Two year VIP passes will commence when the main park is operational.
