Hey, Max Lawrence here! 

I’m a queer, alt-pop musician from Melbourne, Australia. 

I’ve put up this Pozible campaign as I need funding to record and release my upcoming EP ‘The Nothingness’, as well as create a sick music video for the lead single ‘Gasoline'

I’ve spent so many hours writing, recording and dreaming this year. But this will all change in 2020 when I plan to release the EP and a heap more music!

THE PROJECT

Inspired by David Shrigley’s artwork ‘Fight The Nothingness’, ‘The Nothingness’ EP ponders deeper questions about human existence, and what we do when battling existential thoughts, all to a catchy tune. With this new project I'm pushing my creative boundaries further and exploring more upbeat, yet darker shades in my music. Personally, I write music and make art to help fill my world with a bit more colour, and creating is my form of fighting ‘The Nothingness’, and I’m super excited to share it all with you!

With these songs I aim to push the envelope of pop a little further, to blend genres together, to create music which is honest, thought-provoking, innovative and honestly just JAMMY. 

Rino Darusman (Goldnoir) and I have nearly finished production on the tracks, but the next steps are to mix, master and shoot a music video for the lead single ‘Gasoline’.

THE FUN PART

I thought I’d take the opportunity of having a Pozible campaign as a challenge to be even more creative! I’ve designed some T shirts and tote bags for the various tiers in which you beautiful people would like to donate, as well as some of my paintings, token rewards and cute dinners along the way. Pozible is all or nothing! That means if we don’t reach the goal, then she all goes kaput and death drops into the abyss! That means that EVERY donation helps, no matter how small. I would really really appreciate your help in making this body of work come to life, it’s hard out here for an indie musician like myself, but I feel like this is some of my best work which I’m incredibly proud of, and would love for you guys to be a part of helping it all come to life!

BUDGET:

MIXING (we need to feng shui the furniture! Those synths have to sit pretty in the mix!) = $1,500

MASTERING (to get that super professional sheen that all your pop faves sound like) = $300

‘GASOLINE’ MUSIC VIDEO (so I can develop the world this song lives in, and tbh it's an excuse to light something on fire) $2,000

GOAL= $3,800

In addition to this campaign I’ll be funding publicity, and marketing media such as photos, extra videos with my own cash and also applying for government grants.
