'Ben hit’s the gym late at night and unknowingly antagonises Jack, an enigmatic gym junkie. To punish Ben, Jack feigns support and pushes Ben to breaking point.'
Dead Lift is a short film written & directed by Max Pollard. It is a dark journey exploring, gym culture, social media and masculinity.

It’s one year since the script was drafted and after a crazy, eventful shoot in Feb 2016 I need your help to finish our baby!
We are hoping to raise money to cover post-production expenses. Your donation will be used to pay for our sound design, LUCIANBLOMKAMP’s incredible tunes and some festival entry costs.
By donating you are supporting everyone who has worked tirelessly over the last year to make Dead Lift happen.
Thank you for your donation! I look forward to screening you the finished film.

How The Funds Will Be Used
We've got a plan to divi the 1600 bucks up three ways.
$300 for Music Composition
$300 for Sound Design
$1000 for Festival Entry Fees
Until this point the film has been self-funded. A lot of our post money was eaten up by production when an 'act of god' meant we needed 2 days of pick ups.
The Dead Lift family will be eternally grateful if you could help us reach our goal xx
The Challenges
Did you know the film was shot in two parts, 2 weeks apart? Good work continuity.
Our first shoot was cut short when one of our leads became a dad the same weekend! What are the chances?! Happy to say that the baby is happy and healthy.
Having to schedule pickup days two weeks later stressed us all out a bit and stretched our budget!
It increased the location fee, catering and camera rental costs plus numerous other bits and pieces.
Our two cast members did a superhuman job performing whilst hitting the gym with real weights for our four night shoots. Usually running from 8pm until 5am the next day!
Our main challenge now is to try and reward the people collaborating with us for all their hard work and pay film festival entry fees which really add up!
