Hi, we're Laura Summers and Maximilian from dance-anecdote.
Melbourne Fringe have offered us a last-minute dance slot in September... and we're taking it. We're super excited to be making a work for the Fringe festival hub this year (Arts House - North Melbourne town hall warehouse) and we can't wait to share with you some of the wild and beautiful work we're creating on our wonderful dancers, Geoffrey Watson and Bicky Lee.
However, the unexpected nature of the offer means we are financially under-resourced and we'd love your help...
ABOUT THE SHOW
'Bless The Beasts: Shibuya Summer' is a frenetic dance work exploring the point where the wild, authentic self can no longer be constrained by political mores. Rallying against a political backdrop where homosexuality has been likened to bestiality and marriage equality is touted as a potential threat to trade relations, 'Bless The Beasts: Shibuya Summer' explodes in a miasma of delirious individuation.
Determined to create their own promised land, your new dance superheroes 'The Beasts' take inspiration from a Summer lost in the ultra-creativity of Japan, and fashion a golden pavilion where they can truly exalt in being themselves.
