Welcome to the Crowdfunding Campaign for our short film 'HOUSE OF TOMORROW'

HOUSE OF TOMORROW follows two sisters, Mischa (23) and Agnes (9), as they are left to navigate the dystopian streets of a hazardous Melbourne on their own. Mischa finds her morals at a crossroad when her sister shows a keen interest in environmental activism, forcing her to question how best to protect her.

At its core, this is a film about sisterhood, taking a macro-issue and bringing it down to a micro level. We are using the environmental crisis as a backdrop to comment on the nuanced dynamics of familial relationships.

This is the graduate piece of six Honours students at Swinburne University. The final film will be submitted to film festivals both nationally and internationally.

MEET THE TEAM

SUSTAINABILITY ON SET

Making films isn't always very eco-friendly. It's important for us to consider our impact and keep environmental sustainability at the fore front of our minds. This means we will;

• Have plant-based meals on set
• Prioritise natural light
• Use equipment with a low energy consumption
• Source second-hand wardrobe and props
• Digitse documents where possible

It's only right for a film discussing usses of climate action, that we as a crew do our part.

It's common knowledge that films cost a lot of money, and House of Tomorrow is no exception! We have a long long list of expenses we need help covering. Contributions to our film will be split between the major departments, contributing, among other things, to;

• Camera equipment
• Set Design (props & costume)
• Catering
• Casting
• Post-production
• Location
• Marketing

By donating to the film, you help bring the world of House of Tomorrow to life. From hiring out beautiful vintage lenses, to all the small things like buying hardrives and hand sanitiser (Don't think for a second Covid safety isn't at the top of our minds!) we can guarantee your money will be put to good use, and be essential in making our film the best it can possibly be. 

Any excess money we have by the end of this process, will be donated to Australian Conservation Foundation. It feels only right that a film centered around the environmental crisis contributes to an organisation that dedicates all their time to benefiting our world.
