We are now working closely with Garoo Games to make sure we produce a really great product that will be played and enjoyed by people all across Australia.

We want to build a fun cricket game app for our supporters as well as cricket fans across Australia and beyond! We have received seed funding through Vodafone Foundation’s App Aid to build the app prototype, but now we need to raise $6,000 to bring the app to market and make it a reality.

Vodafone Foundation will match every pledge made between 9am EDST 14 November and 5pm EDST 5 December 2013 (up to $10,000). Every donation counts, no matter how big or small, as Vodafone Foundation will donate an additional $10,000 to the App Aid charity team with the highest number of individual backers at 5pm EDST 5 December 2013.

We have worked closely with Garoo Games to develop 'Pink Stumps Cricket' based on our popular 'Pink Stumps Day' initiative which takes place in over 1,000 cricket communities throughout Australia every February.



Using this fantastic opportunity we wanted to create an app that will be fun for all of our current supporters and also general cricket lovers! The game does however have a far more important purpose, and that is to give a new widespread audience the ability to take a virtual McGrath Breast Care Nurse from the game and turn her into a reality through the donation functionality of the app.

We currently fund 87 McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities around Australia and they have so far helped over 21,000 families through their breast cancer experience. Our mission is to place 150 McGrath Breast Care Nurses throughout Australia by 2018 so that every family experiencing breast cancer can have access to a breast care nurse, no matter where they live or their financial situation.



The game is a ten over challenge where you must bat to try and help fund a new McGrath Breast Care Nurse which costs $370,000 for a full-time nurse over three years. Every run is worth virtual cash but it is all about hitting those 'perfect' shots to secure extra virtual cash bonuses!



You can decide to open the batting for your local cricket team by entering each batsmen's name or choose to bat alongside some of your cricketing heroes. Compare your scores with your friends through our leaderboards and challenge your friends to play through social media. There will even be a global leaderboard so you can compare yourself to the best out there!

If we are successful in hitting our initial target then we plan to bring the game to market in January 2014 in time for Pink Stumps Day 2014.

Vodafone Foundation have so far funded us to the tune of $10,000 to build an excellent prototype of Pink Stumps Cricket. With your help and with the advantage of dollar matching by Vodafone Foundation we have the chance to make this a truly great app. Your funds will be used to develop the game from a prototype to include the following:

-Leaderboards
-Additional animations for bowling and batting
-Additional team colors
-Additional stadiums
-Better batting simulation
-Customizable team members
-Customizable team name
-Left and right handed batsmen

Hitting our target will also ensure that you will see this game brought to market early in 2014!

The main challenge is to educate people how much money the McGrath Foundation needs to raise in order to place one full-time McGrath Breast Care Nurse for a three year period ($370,000) as well as how they can help us support families experiencing breast cancer by participating in our fundraising initiatives such as Pink Stumps Day or donating through the app.

We believe that by encouraging as many people as possible to play the game we will be able to educate even more people about the important work our McGrath Breast Care Nurses do and how they can help.
