Your Best Foot Forward is an inspiring Aussie comedy short film about friendship, footy and looking your best for a potential date.
Set in 1987 when hair was big and footy was local, Dicko and Bazza head out to their favourite shoe store before the grand final so that Dicko can find a new pair for an important first date, also scheduled for that evening. Shoe shopping on such an important day is not Bazza's idea of a good time but he knows he has to help Dicko make a decision, otherwise they'll miss the first bounce. Luckily the shop assistant Veronica keeps them amused and finds them the perfect shoe with enough time to spare. But are they the right pair? Will it really help Dicko impress the new lady? Or will it all end in vain?
Starring local actors and comedians Ash Williams, Tony Mason and Sydney blonde beauty Ally Pinnock, the idea for this inspiring story came from Brett Long and he co-wrote the script with Melinda Kalac who is also producing and directing the film.
After many years of fine tuning her skills, working on documentaries, films, music video clips and volunteering on community TV promoting mostly Australian musicians, film makers and artists, this is Melinda Kalac's long awaited debut as an artistic film director.
Thanks to everyone who has already helped out over the last few months. Your continued fundraising support (anything from $5+) will secure professional equipment and expertise in camera, lighting and sound. It will also cover the costs of sourcing props, set design, music and costumes from the 80s. Anything over the target amount will go towards post production, marketing and distribution.
