In March 2012 the House of Dance started up Tasmania's first Elite Training Program for dancers with the aim of extending students who's potential could not be met within their one hour group lesson. The Elite Squad classes allow students with extra capabilities to train alongside similarly capable students in a more personalised lesson that does not take away time from their competition classes. For the past 18 months the Elite Squad have been taking extra lessons to better themselves and have established themselves as some of Tasmania's best dance talent at local competitions. At the Showcase Dance Championships in August 2013 the Elite Squad qualified for the National Championships on the Gold Coast in January, winning all seven groups they entered, and the Outstanding Choreography Award. We want to make these hard working, and dedicated dancers' dreams come true.

The biggest risk to this event is that we do not raise enough money and some dancers not being able to afford it. We are doing several fundraising ventures within the school, but are in need of some extra help from our friends, family, or people who just love dance.
