Many years ago, when Iwas at film school I went on a two months trip to Patagonia, Argentina, andfilmed 21 hours of Hi8 video, aimed for a documentary. The tapes have beensleeping in a box for a long time and now the time to see them come alive hascome. For that matter I need to transfer them from analogue to digital.
Once I have them all transferred I willview them and see what story is possible to edit. The aim is to edit a 20minutes documentary on the life of the local Patagonian gauchos. I interviewedmany great characters and filmed some amazing landscape and I think there willbe great footage to put together an entertaining video story. Can't wait to seewhat comes up!

How The Funds Will Be Used
The raised money will be used to pay for the transferring of the Hi8 tapes to Mpeg2 video digital format. The cost is $40 per tape. I have 21 tapes.
This funds will help to kick start the project. Watching the footage and developing the story will be just the first stage. Then many hours will go into getting a rough cut, playing with the right structure of the story and thinking about the second stage (voice overs, music soundtrack, colour grading). Any money raised over the $840 mark will go to finance the second stage - pay for voice over, the rights for the soundtrack and professional colour grading.
The Challenges
To undust the project and give it a new life. The tapes have been sleeping in a box for 20 years, so I hope they all are in optimal condition. I have back ups in VHS too...
