The project is a new musical called Christmas on the Line which is a musical about group of friends in World War One. The musical centers around the 3 days before, including and after Christmas. We are in crowdfunding because being our first really major project it certainly has more cost than we have between us and so we're calling for anyone able & willing to support us. In exchange for a few nice bonuses :)
On to the budget. We have booked the Banyule theatre in Melbourne's East for the 19th and 20th of October, we expect the total cost of the hire to be $3200 - here is where we intend to use any money we raise from Pozible. Here's the breakdown of that:

Performance:
Session includes:
All Stage Lighting/microphones, sound system, talk-back system, piano & kitchen.
Can include a rehearsal on same day
$735.00 (minimum booking 4 hours)
Rehearsal:
Session includes: Stage Lighting/microphones, sound system, kitchen
$500.00
Rehearsal:
Non Performance technical set-up/bump-in
$100.00
Technical consultation with
Theatre Technician
(prior to hire period by appointment only)
$45 per hour
Security Deposit &Bond -
To be paid on confirmation of booked dates - deducted from the final account after completion of the hire period
$550.00 (includes GST)
Theatre Technician
$45 per hour
So for 2 shows $735 x 2 = 1470 %20 bond(550) = 2020 %20 theatre technician for 24 hours total (45x24=1080) = $3100 %20 bump-in/setup fee $100 = a total of $3200.
We have rehearsal spaces that we are able to use for free at Victoria University and at Kindred Studios given our affiliations with them.
We also need to hire 8 radio mics for the cast at $25 a piece = $200.
all other technical equipment we either already own or is supplied at the theatre.
We will have some additional costs for costumes and set design but these are unconfirmed as yet.
Also note that we will be holding other fundraisers over the next 4 months to raise the remaining funds. We have a BBQ booked in at Woolworths which are said to raise $1000-$1500, and a bake sale at Victoria University where past sales have raised $600-800. Any remaining costs should be covered by ticket sales, if not then it falls to Johnathon and I to cover them.

Here are some prototypes of our work to date.

Just a bit about the project now. It intends make you bond with the characters during the three days in which it is set - to enable you to laugh with the characters! So that when the reality of war becomes clear to the audience then you are also able to sympathize with the characters. However, for the majority of the performance, it is a comedy styled production. Linked above is a video containing an interview with ourselves (Johnathon and Nathan) just giving a little insight into the musical. Also note that all the music used in the video are original songs created by Nathan for Christmas on the Line.

Just a little bit about us:
Johnathon is a very passionate maker of theatre, he has performed in over 10 amateur productions with companies such as Nova and the Catchment theatre. His most recent work was Anthony in Sweeney Todd by Nove productions. He is very excited now to be living out a dream of writing and producing his very own show and is working extremely hard to get everything organized and to a high quality for the show season.
Nathan is very much a musician immersed in the world of music. Though his talents do reach to other fields, acting, singing, dance and has even performed his fair share of stage plays too when he was involved in Riff Raff Theatre Productions Inc. Though the piano is certainly is strongest ability having played for 16 years. He has composed quite a few pieces of music before but also not for something as big as this. His most recent work includes two concerts with the Melbourne Youth Wind Symphony Orchestra.

Unfortunately much of our work has been in live performances of other shows covered in copyright and therefore we were unable to record them.
