Adrenalin Generations is a video documentary about a father and son team racing motorcycles on the most dangerous track in the world, the Isle of Man, 10,000 miles from home.
The action, the emotion and the danger intrinsic in racing on the roads of the Isle of Man has been attractive to those who aspire to compete in the most intense environment possible. My name is Nigel Paterson, and I hope to capture those moments in Adrenalin Generations.
Racers die competing on the Isle of Man most years. The circuit hasn’t been a part of the World Championship since the 1970s, because too many people have died. Chris and Alex Pickett, our riders, have known riders killed there.
But still they must go.
Chris has raced classic motorcycles for over 20 years. Alex usually races modern machinery, and has a couple of Australian Titles to his name.
“I’ve wanted to race the Isle of Man all of my adult life,” Chris has said.
“I love the Isle of Man. Yes it’s intimidating and dangerous but I can’t wait to test myself on the Mountain Course. It’s definitely the greatest challenge I’ll have faced in my life so far,” Alex told me.
Adrenalin Generations has commenced shooting, with background footage of the bikes being prepared and tested in the can, although there’s a lot more to come.
With your help, Adrenalin Generations will be a television-quality production, suitable for a world-wide audience.
I have been a motorcycle journalist for 20 years. I established Cycle Torque (www.cycletorque.com.au) in 1999 and, together with Chris Pickett and Ray Macarthur, still own and run out the publication (which now also encompasses the website, eMag and iPad editions).
Supporters of Adrenalin Generations will be rewarded with some unique memorabilia, as well as being able to watch the video once it’s completed.
In addition to the things you’d expect - digital downloads and DVDs – we’re also offering to name your sponsorship in the film’s credits, create an honour roll for display in the pits at the Isle of Man, produce bespoke team jackets, attend a theatre showing of the film with the cast and crew and even come to the Isle of Man for the racing and filming.
All donations will be credited in the film.
