This is your chance to share an intimate space away from the commotion of a bustling bar among other music lovers like yourselves. Raindrops and Rooftops is throwing its very first show, an 80 person house gig, this coming November 16th featuring emerging artists Tané, Oh Pep! (duo) and the Christopher Coleman Collective. This is going to be an unforgettable chance to be a part of the Melbourne music community with unbelievably heartwarming, charismatic musicians. By donating, your money doesn't go towards paying a promoter or marketer it goes towards the musicians themselves and setting up this awesome space with light and sound. About Nikita (creator of Raindrops and Rooftops)
For those who don't know me, I am Nikita and I originate from tropical sunny Cairns. In January 2012 I packed one small suitcase and left my hometown for my new home in Melbourne. As a result of my move, I have become a serial gig attendee and being unbelieveably inspired by talent in the Melbourne music scene, created a music blog as a way to share these amazing artists I have discovered through my experiences.
Since then I have covered festivals throughout Australia, tour managed a band on the east coast and stood on table tops writing reviews on scraps of paper. I have met some amazing people along the way and the blog has expanded to include a team of other music lovers like myself. We now would like to throw a house show that creates a musical experience you won't be able to forget long after the last song has been sung. There are strictly only 80 spots available and I wouldn't want you to miss this. Will you join me?
Where the money goes
Your money will go towards putting this show on which includes paying for our musicians, sound, lighting and setup.
If we can reach $4500 we have enough to fund another show, pay off blog bills that include web hosting and advertising and pay our team.
Rewards
For your kind donations we have house show footage, early bird tickets to the show, CD Packs, R&R house shebang DVDs and t-shirts and house concerts with Tané and Porcelain Pill.
Each person that purchases an early bird titled reward not only receives their name on the guest list they also receive a digital download of the house show compilation which features three tracks. This is only available to attendees and R&R house shebang packs.
Are you a musician?
There are rewards for you the musicians too that include Ian Bickerstaff photo press kits, one-on-one sessions with Steve Palfreyman online music marketer, one-on-one songwriting sessions with James Mackey music. If we are unable to fund the show via pozible we the show will still go on and will be funded from a combination of ticket sales and bank loans. Hopefully it doesn't have to come to this!
