Welcome to Farm Animal! If you’ve made it here, it hopefully means you are interested in seeing our short film!

Over the past few months, five enthusiastic students decided to launch their graduate film. As it was their last film at school, it would be the one to get them noticed. Ambitions were high and spirits were even higher for this coming-of-age tale set in the ugly side of the Victorian country that we don’t often see. There are no gently spinning windmills nor are there sunny landscapes as far as the eye could see.

The story follows Mouse who is soon to inherit the farm from his steadily ageing Poppa. He is dedicated to his duties and is very much a man of the land. With his best friend Daisy the farm dog, he drives the the tractor, rounds up the sheep, collects eggs and does what needs to be done. That is until what needs to be done creates a conflicted Mouse that tears down his tough exterior to show signs of sentiment. Daisy develops a lust of blood after she kills a chicken and farm law dictates that she must now be ‘destroyed’ for the sake of the farm. To top it all off, his cousin Hunter visits from the city….and the pair of them don’t exactly have a great history. Mouse is left with a tough decision of what to do with his dog, all while his worst enemy breathes down his neck.

After countless writing sessions, production meetings, late nights, early mornings, location scouts, camera tests, actor auditions and a lot of driving….A crew of over 20 students embarked on a week long shoot in the spring heat. With adrenaline and caffeine the only things in their system, Farm Animal was eventually completed. Here are some photos from the film

The crew have have poured their hearts, souls and hard-earned dollars into making this story a reality, and now so close to releasing it for the world to experience, we need your help.

Ahead of us is an exciting festival circuit which could see Farm Animal light up screens all over Australia and perhaps all over the world. But before we make it there, we need your support in making sure the film is finished, prepared, packaged, delivered and appreciated. In addition, the generosity of so many have got us through to this stage and for it we’d like to be able to pay them for what they’ve done for us.

Thank you for your support in this latter stage where we can seal our vision once and for all!

UPDATE: BIG THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED SO FAR, WE'RE UNDER HALF WAY WITH 7 DAYS TO GO SO PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT US AND THEY CAN REAP SOME AWESOME AWARDS YOU WON'T FIND ANYWHERE ELSE

How The Funds Will Be Used

$1500 - Festival Fees
The average price of the festival submissions are about fifty dollars. If Farm Animal ought to go as wide and far as possible, we need to enter as many as we can!

$1000 - Accommodation & Transport
We want to pay back some of the costs of production.
