"Brought together again by the death of their abusive mother, James takes temporary guardianship of his estranged younger sister Emma. As they prepare for the funeral, they struggle to reconnect the lost bond between them whilst navigating the unspoken trauma of their childhoods. James grapples with his own guilt of leaving Emma behind and questions his own ability to stand up to the responsibility of caring for his sister, driving his internal conflict to a crisis point. Emma, meanwhile, yearns for the brother she once knew, struggling to understand the man that has returned."
