Hello All!
I am not exactly funding for a particular project but rather, I hope to be able to raise some funds for a portion of my medical school fees, at least for the first and second years while I settle myself into the environment and work to save for the later half of medical school.
Here is my story.
The road to medical school isn't an easy one, anyone who has attempted it will know. Nothing great achieved in life ever is easy.
I started doing backpacking volunteering to rural areas about 7 yrs ago. On those trips, i witnessed the poverty and lack in those places. I started with a simple intention of lending a hand, especially to the young children who can help themselves to a better life and a future if I could at least, help them to level their education edge.
Therefore, I coined the term - "Every child may not be born equal, but every child deserves an equal opportunity to succeed in life."

However, while I got more involved in such community projects and began organizing my own projects with the locals, I realized I wanted to do more. More than just sourcing for funds, rallying volunteers to build facilities and better education for the young, I wanted to be the direct medium to help these communities. It was fulfilling to help the communities with these projects, but I knew I wanted to do more and I could do more. I envisioned myself being the help anywhere and everywhere i go. Healthcare is a basic need that everyone needs, regardless of social status or class. I then went back to my life's drawing board.
To cut the long story short, 5 years ago, I decided to embark on the doctor's journey. It probably has always been my dream and destiny.. but I never dare to dream it as it seems like a really lofty dream reserved for the ultra rich and geniuses. So, I paid my way through university while holding down a full time career, took a detour and earned a science related degree with a distinction average. Tried the MCAT and applied to medical schools. After much hard work, disappointments, sweat and blood (literally, haha!), eventually, I got accepted to a medical school (YEAY!!) after conquering all the obstacles along the way.
I am leaving for the medical university in Sep and I am determined to support myself through medical school in a foreign land. I know it ain't gonna be easy but I believe nothing is impossible. Like my Thomas Edison Theory - As long as you keep trying and not give up, you will succeed eventually.

If you would like to support my dream, I hope you will drop a dime or two!
or perhaps, a dollar or even a blank cheque! (hahahaha.. just kidding!)
How The Funds Will Be Used
4 semesters for 2 years x SGD$3,000 = SGD$12,000
Pay it forward! A dollar from every $10 you give to support my dream will be donated to a local charity (:
