The Schroedinger experiment
I was orginally invited to these workshops two years ago, and my invitation is a form of recognition that my work in this area of mathematics has international significance. In fact, most of the attendees are well known in this field. I intend to give a talk in at least the first of these two workshops, and to write at least one mathematical paper as an outcome.
My invitation covers my accommodation costs, but does not cover transport. Unfortunately, I can't afford the airfare to Vienna.
My attendance at these workshops will help me to continue my career in mathematics, and I want to give back to the Australian community by helping to train the next generation in mathematics, by both teaching at university, and by visiting secondary colleges,
How The Funds Will Be Used
The Challenges
(1) I might gain employment before October, but then not be able to arrange time away from work to attend the workshops. In this case, I would pay back all of your contributions straight away.
(2) I might not gain employment before October, run out of money to pay my rent, and have to change my living arrangements during the time when I should be at the workshops. In this case, I would pay back all of your contributions, once I was able to.
Acknowledgement!
You have my gratitude and your initials will appear in the acknowledgement slide of my talk!
Unique computer artwork
You get the $16+ reward, plus, I will use my own <a href="http://glucat.sf.net">PyClical</a> software to generate a unique artwork, and then send it to you electronically. I will generate a unique artwork just for you, to any resolution you specify, up to 4096 x 4096 pixels, and give you all rights to use and copy it. This size should be suitable for <a href="http://www.printlocker.com.au">custom T shirt printing</a>, etc. The number of works available is strictly limited.
Proper acknowledgement
Your full name (or your *clean* nickname) will appear in both the acknowledgement slide and the acknowledgements of the papers I will write as a result of attending the workshops.
Challenge word
You get the $50+ reward, plus, you get to nominate a word that I will include in my slides or in one of the papers that I will write. No profanities are allowed, and publication is subject to peer review.
Your own lemma
You get the $50+ reward, plus, in one of the solo papers I write, I will name a lemma after you. This name will appear in the preprint, but publication is subject to peer review.
I will perform for you
You get the $50+ reward, plus, I will come to a place of your choosing, and do something mathematical, like give a talk, or tutor you or your children or grandchildren. You will need to contact me to make the arrangements. I will pay my own transportation costs if the location is a day trip or less away from Canberra. Otherwise, I will negotate the transport costs with you.
Your own theorem
You get the $50+ reward, plus, in one of the solo papers I write, I will name a key theorem after you (e.g. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_George_Stokes,_1st_Baronet">"Stokes' theorem"</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Étienne_Bézout">"Bezout's theorem"</a>.) This name will appear in the preprint, but publication is subject to peer review. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theorem">What is a theorem?</a>
Your own key property
You get the $50+ reward, plus, in one of the solo papers I write, I will name a key property after you (e.g. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niels_Henrik_Abel">"abelian group"</a>, <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Hilbert">"Hilbert space"</a>.) This name will appear in the preprint, but publication is subject to peer review. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematical_object">What is a mathematical object?</a>
My thesis
You get the $50+ reward, plus I will send you my own personal copy of my bound PhD thesis, signed and dated in 2007. This is <b>not</b> <a href="http://www.pozible.com/project/185825#updates">the copy that is in the art gallery</a>, but my own copy containing my handwritten corrections, and is unique in that regard.
