Ever had a dream.........? I did.....
Take one humble Australian musician who.....
* plays the saxophone and flute.
* loves dancing salsa.
* has been donating his time & energy for free for 5 years to spread the love of rueda salsa dancing.
* loves jazz, improvisation and the Latin community.
* had a dream of combining these passions and creating an original album of salsa music that can be danced to.
I made half of the dream come true and recorded an album in CUBA with some of Cuba's best musicians in the same studio as the famed “BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB” album.
This recording is something special, something original, something latin.
It's a way of giving back to the Cuban culture and community that has given so much happiness to my life.

Changuito (Los Van Van) - timbales (YES, THE CHANGUITO)
Yoraldy Abreu Robles (Chucho Valdes) - conga, shekere, shaker, guiro
Alejandro Falcon (Maraca) - piano
Jorge Aragon - piano
Angel Gaston Joya Perellada (Chucho Valdes) - double bass
Oliver Valdes - drum set
Paul Van Ross - tenor sax & flute
Paul Van Ross meets the pro musos, Australia meets Cuba. This will sound beautiful, look beautiful, and be something you can enjoy listening and dancing to for years to come.
This album is also a tribute to all the Salsa dancers out there who love LIVE Latin Music.
It’s recorded, it’s mixed, and if this campaign is successful I can bring it to you. The campaign will help get the album mastered, artwork designed, CD pressed, and create a Salsa Dancing CD Launch like none seen in Australia before. That’s right, no Australian has ever recorded in Cuba like this!

How The Funds Will Be Used
As the album is already recorded I have carefully considered the amount to raise and
have kept the figure as low as possible without compromising on quality - the album features some of the best musicians in the world and I would like to do them musician and the music justice. Extra funds surpassing the goal will go towards more post production, promotion of the album and album launch.
Mastering (Michael Lazarus - USA) = $1000
CD Artwork/Design = $600
Photography (Michael Teo photography) = $600
CD Printing/Pressing (1000) = $2500
CD Launch Marketing (PBS) = $350
Amcos Licensing Fees (La Negra Tomasa) = $150
Total = $5200
STRETCH GOALS / ADDITIONAL FUNDING:
If we raise over the target goal, additional funding will be used for essential marketing and publicity of the album. This will increase exposure and sales, and boost performance opportunities - as well as generate interest and support for future recording projects.
$250 stretch goal: Some Facebook advertising; poster production for street advertising.
$500 stretch goal: Increased Facebook advertising campaign; poster production, flyers.
$1,000 stretch goal: Hire of publicist for basic promotion including radio, online and print opportunities.
$1,500 stretch goal: Hire publicist for basic promotion; Facebook marketing campaign.
$2,000 stretch goal: Hire publicist for full standard album promotion, including 6 week campaign of radio, online and print promotion, print and online advertising.
$2,500 stretch goal: as above plus funds towards a successful CD launch in Melbourne.

The Challenges
This is an ambitious project,
although the album has already been recorded (an amazing experience in CUBA), I
am keen to get the project mastered, pressed and released. This Pozible
campaign will greatly assist in providing funds to make this possible and be a
huge success.
This project is one of the highlights of my music career and possibly my best work yet.
I'm very confident with the quality of the music and have a great team to work with, and a strong plan of action. So with your help and the goal amount we can easily make this happen!
