When Billy – an unemployed gardener with a heart of gold - misplaces his elderly neighbour’s dog, he must attempt the unthinkable and steal from his favourite charity to secure the dog’s freedom.

‘Every Bit Counts’ is a short, live-action film written and directed by Jay Adshead and produced by Paula Salini. It’s an ambitious black comedy set in locations as diverse as the grungy streets of Brunswick, to the harsh landscapes of rural Ethiopia. We are assembling a talented team of Victorian filmmakers who have worked on everything from Hollywood action features, to low-budget tales of loss and tragedy. 

But we are missing one important thing – some much needed help from our audience. You are the reason we tell these stories: we want you to laugh; to cry and most importantly – we want you to be entertained.

As you already know, bringing these stories to life can be a costly exercise, but with your help, anything is possible.

We have already hosted a successful fundraising concert - featuring some of Melbourne’s great musical talents - as well as contributing our own funds to help tell this great story.

Unfortunately, we are still short on production funds, and that’s where you come in – We need your help.

A film featuring two goats; nine actors and a scene set in the wilds of Ethiopia - what could go wrong?

Pretty much anything. But that's why we have surrounded ourselves with some of the finest, film and television cast and crew in Australia.

We've visited our filming locations numerous times to thoroughly plan out each scene; taken the appropriate safety measures by purchasing public liability insurance, as well as preparing the required safety reports that any professional production utilises to prepare for the unexpected.

The largest obstacle that we face with our film is time - that's why we have been preparing for this shoot for the last six months. We intend to make the most of every second we have on set to bring you - the audience - the best film possible.
