I've Illustrated Ned Kelly because I've always loved the man, and the myth. The trials and tribulations he went through simply to survive in the new world he was thrown into. Ned Kelly the underdog. (The Jerilderie letter) Ned Kelly. Australia's Robin Hood during the 1880's. Ned had been hard done by all his life. For my small part i wanted to put a smile on Ned Kelly the man. The endevour is to bring him into the 21st century in what I'm calling BRUT POP. it's all the things Ned would have been connected with but never mentioned. Aboriginal culture for one. His day to day survival. gathering food, the animals, wondering through the landscape at night, what did Ned & Co do for entertainment. and the never ending outback on the run, and many other themes within the Illustrations.

How i will use the funds.

I will need production costs to produce the silk screened prints for the (Ned Kelly ''SILK'' Exhibition) there will be up to seven screens to prepare per Illustration. Print size. 540x700mil approx. Printed on handmade French cotton paper, 250 gsm. There are several stages before each one reaches the printer. A manually intensive process. Drawing each image can take 24-48 hrs. Then there's choosing the best paper grades, colour separations, silk screens,  the matching of colour tests both at proof and printing stages. Then the final print, after this, they need hand spotting. (Filling in any slight imperfections after the printing process-hand retouching) same as a fiberbase photograph.

If the funds are realised, and i make the target. I can offer pledges two main rewards. (Four rewards overall-see rewards). An original one-off set of digital prints for the Pozible project only, comprising 230x270mil approx. Along with the larger silk screened prints 540x700mil, approx. Both digital and silk screend prints will be signed and numbered. The silk screened drawings are in limited editions of 15 per Illustration. I would then like to have an gallery exhibition of 20 Ned Kelly silk screened Illustrations. The price of each print at the exhibition will be $1500. (Unframed). For the Pozible pledges, the price per Illustration will be $200-digital. $700 silk screens. (8 images will be offered for pledges to choose from. See under ''Description'' for Illustrations available) Once framed, the larger silk screens on offer should have a 7'' white matt boarder, and will stand at approx 900x1100mil. An impressive size.

The balance of the funds will go to the gallery space along with posters and public relations for the gathering of  the movers and shakers to attend. I can't give a full breakdown here for gallery costs as they will vary depending on gallery chosen.

Galleries costs.

The challenges an artist must deal with in the art world are many. The main one is dealing with ''Established Galleries''. They take 40-50% before you put pen to paper. For many, its hardly worth the effort after costs. The great thing about Pozible crowdfunding is, we as artists, can actually receive a meaningful sum and go on to produce the next series of drawings. Social media has changed the dynamic, enabling artists to survive online through the likes of exciting new affordable pop up gallery spaces. At the very least, it gives us hope that urges us forward. In the hope, we as artists, can have a more viable economic future. It's Pozible.!
