Peter C. Hayward

Ryan Keaney is an experienced actor, having appeared in assorted Melbourne-based theatre productions. This pilot will be his film debut. In accompaniment with his strong theatre background, Ryan is a proficient martial artist, weight-lifter and dancer, making him the ideal candidate to play the hero of the series.

His character, new to the city and completely unfamiliar with drug culture, temporarily gains super-strength, super-speed, and super-senses after accidentally taking a party drug, which he uses to combat the drug dealers of Melbourne. Quiet, honest, likeable and naive, the series documents his journey in a world he never imagined he would find himself a part of.

The chance to name this character is our biggest donator reward - for contributing $500 to the project, you can name the hero of the series - after yourself, a loved one, a child…and as the show is still untitled, the name of the central character may well become the name of the show!

Laura Jane:

Laura Jane Turner is an acting student studying at the Victorian College of the Arts, and has performed extensively in both theatre and film in Brisbane and Melbourne, where she is now based. After a gruelling audition process, Laura Jane's performing experience, commitment and dedication to the role, and sheer talent made her our perfect Ginger.

Our hero’s first friend in the city, Ginger is a party girl training to become a nurse. Initially our hero’s gateway into the new lifestyle he becomes a part of, she quickly becomes his sole confidante and expresses concern for his seemingly bottomless descent into a dirtier way of living. Bubbly, fun loving and naturally caring, the series explores Ginger’s ever shifting perception of the people and activities she is a part of.

Ben:

Ben Smith is a writer, actor, and musician originally from Perth and now based in Melbourne. His strong writing, production and performance background place him in perfect stead to play "The Junkie". Ben, as well as starring as the primary antagonist of the series, is one of the show's writers and producers.

A young, ambitious and motivated drug user and dealer, The Junkie is our hero’s supplier, and soon finds himself the only drug dealer in the city, immune to the vigilante justice the hero deals to his competition. Seizing the opportunity presented to him, the series documents his rise to power and the threat he becomes to our hero in more ways than he may have suspected.

Danielos:

Danielos is a Melbourne based actor in his debut acting role. His musical performance background, cultural depth, and natural enthusiasm and charm make him the perfect choice for the role.

Crass and obnoxious, yet friendly, Danielos's character represents everything that overwhelms our hero in the new city. A casual drug user, the series paints his drug use in a unique light and follows his relationship with the other characters as they quickly change around him.

Danielos's character's name is also a major reward for the series - for $250, he will be named after your name (or a name of your choice) converted into its Greek or Italian equivalent - "Peter" become "Petros", "John" become "Giovanni", and "Pat" becomes "Patrikios".
