'Super Con' is a pop culture comedy web series, Galaxy Quest meets Spaced, with Scott Pilgrim and Robot Chicken vibes thrown into the blender.
Luke and Dave, our main characters of the story have been let go from Video Star, a video rental store now going out of business, Sarah is the regular customer who always visited once a week, is saddened by the news.
To take their minds off the closure, they decide to go to PopCon, a large pop culture convention event. However their day doesn't go well.
From Sarah losing out to a nursery rhyme theme cosplayer, to the three missing out on getting autographs signed and photos taken with the stars, they decide and set out to organize their own pop culture convention called "Super Con", and that's what the first episode is all about.
While I can go on and spoil the rest of the season, I will say that each episode will explore certain aspects of running a convention, from hiring a venue, to finding actors, the day of the event and everything else in between. All that and more will go into the overall story of "Super Con"
The web series will have five episodes to tell the story, each episode will vary in length, from 6 to 12 minutes, with aim of the season to be between 30 to 40 minutes.

When I pledge for any amount, does my credit card get deducted automatically?
Your credit card will only be deducted once the target goal has been reached.
When will Super Con be made?
If the campaign succeeds, then we will commence shooting Super Con by end of the year.
When will Super Con be released?
Because the project is being made independently, there isn't a locked in release date. The aim is to release it by the end of 2014 at the latest. If the date changes at all, you will be notified via backer updates.
What special features will be on the DVD?
That is yet to be determined, though expect at the very least a behind the scenes documentary on Super Con, bloopers and an audio commentary.
How will Super Fan Access Pass work?
This will be a way that you can have access to unprecedented behind the scenes on the production of Super Con, these will be videos that only you can access them and have an opportunity to know more about the cast and crew on the project. In some way, you'll be a part of the crew in a virtual way. Examples of which include Production Diaries, Audio Interviews, the opportunity to see rough cuts of the film and much more.
I'm not from Victoria, Australia and I would like to pledge for Premiere Pass or beyond, are flights and accommodation included?
They are not included, you can pledge for those rewards onwards however you must find your way to the Premiere at your own costs. Also the DVD will be given to you on the night of the premiere, though if you preferred it to be sent to you via mail and live outside Australia, add $10 on to the pledge amount. Thanks.
Why no love for the Blu-Ray as a reward for Super Con?
Blu-Ray's cost more money to produce compared to DVD's and isn't feasible for a small production team right now, however if there's enough demand for it, I will consider an upgrade price option for anyone that pledges the DVD Pack and beyond, no guarantees though willing to keep those options open for possibility. You could consider the Super Fan Access Pass the equivalent of the extras content you would get on a Blu-Ray that wouldn't fit onto a DVD.
What are you going to be shooting on?
The Campaign Video was shot on Canon EOS 7D, again this depends on the success of the campaign. If we reach the minimum goal, most likely on DSLR, if we go beyond the goal, then potentially on 2K camera or beyond. Shooting on higher format than 1080p may potentially become a stretch goal, so stay tuned for that.
Wait, why should I pledge for this campaign if I'm going to see this for free?
Super Con will be released online for free, however only if the campaign succeeds and if you pledge from Digital Copy Pack and beyond, you will be the first to see the web series months before the show premieres online.The DVD will include special features that won't be on the internet.

The Challenges
There will be many risks and challenges for "Super Con', because the web series is being made by volunteer cast and crew, we'll work around availabilities to film the scenes required for the show.
We are anticipating a 20 day shoot over the course of many weekends between early November to late June next year.
