Can you think of any entertaining, smart, sexy talk shows on TV right now hosted by a woman? No? That’s because there aren’t any. But there will be soon… with your help. Hello everyone! My name is Phyllis Foundis, host and creator of FOUNDIS – the show where one woman explores a man’s most attractive organ with style, wit and humour show after show. Think Beauty and the Beast in reverse. Four high profile men. One woman. On-air in January 2014 with your help, Foundis is Australia's first talk show for men.
I love men. There, I've said it. And right now, I believe that Aussie blokes are underserviced - particularly when it comes to relevant and entertaining TV content that reflects their lives: relationships, careers, fatherhood, sexuality, physical and mental health.
The media simply takes a narrow view of men; if aliens tuned into the male-centric shows on our screens tonight they'd probably think Aussie man = balls, beer, breasts and bathroom renos.
Call me nuts, but I think it's time the discussion got broader. And that's where FOUNDIS comes in.
A happy, quirky marriage between the ABC's Q & A and America's, The View (with balls), the FOUNDIS show celebrates the diversity of Australian men - and what it means to be an Aussie bloke in the 21st Century. It's about starting the conversations men need to have and women need to hear.
Hosted by me, the panel show features an exciting line-up of fresh and established TV talent including, Tim Ferguson, Nathan Leigh Jones, Graham Long, Tim Brunero, Karel Segers, award-winning Aussie actor Nicholas Hope and Benjamin Norris winner of Big Brother 2012. Whew!
Each episode will focus on the issues that affect men today - EVERYTHING from sex, love and fatherhood to depression, fitness, sexuality and even the top 10 things about a man's prostate.
It's refreshing infotainment that goes beyond DIY, reality TV and sports shows to delve into topics that will engage, entertain and inspire lots of f-words - fun, fireworks and frank discussion.
FOUNDIS is a multi-camera, studio production. It's staffed by 25 crew made up of volunteers, Metro Screen and University of Western Sydney film and TV students PLUS accomplished professionals from the Australian TV and film industries.
This model of production makes FOUNDIS a unique and supportive learning environment for student talent as they benefit from technical knowledge and experience passed on by industry pros in a real-life professional TV production.
No other show on Australian TV is currently providing such unparalleled learning and mentorship opportunities for emerging production talent.
Well that is the $76,000 question - and I've always believed it's his brain; less predictable and far more interesting than erectile tissue.
Sometimes controversial, occasionally beautiful, but always compelling, FOUNDIS will take us to the heart of what men really think. And why?
Essentially if the Graham Norton and Denton shows had a love child it would be FOUNDIS; irreverent, intelligent and fun, without the dick jokes. Well, only if the episode called for it.

Phyllis Foundis, Host / Creator / Executive Producer
A skilled and highly versatile writer and performer, Phyllis has enjoyed success as a theatrical, community TV and advertising writer. She performed her one-woman show, the virgin club to critical acclaim in London’s West End, the Edinburgh Festival and Melbourne’s International Comedy Festival. She’s also written and produced award-winning episodes of TVS show, Dare I Ask? and made her acting debut alongside John Waters in Burleigh Smith’s, Ragtime in 2012.
Peter Herbert, Co-Executive Producer
An accomplished writer and producer, Peter has worked on dramas, comedies and live events including Cop Shop, The Sullivans and The Flying Doctors, The Comedy Company and Acropolis Now. Peter also produced The TV Week Logies hosted by Steve Vizard and sold original programs and formats to Comedy Central in the US, Paramount Comedy Channel and the BBC.
David Summons, Director
A veteran of the Australian Television Industry for the last 30 years, David has directed some of our best known programs including, Australia’s Funniest Home Videos, The Ray Martin Show and Mornings with Kerri-Anne Kennerly. He has also worked as the Supervising Director for the Nine Network and as the Senior Director for Sky News Australia.
Tracey Spicer, Creative Consultant
Highly experienced newsreader, journalist and radio broadcaster, Tracey Spicer is one of the most respected media personalities in the country. Tracey has presented news bulletins for Network Ten and more recently Sky News. She’s has also hosted the breakfast, morning and afternoon shifts on Radio 2ue and VEGA FM. Tracey is currently a Fairfax columnist as well as an MC and media trainer.
REWARDS TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. The digital download or DVD of the FOUNDIS pilot will be available before the series goes to air on Television Sydney in January 2014. 2. VIP access to the FOUNDIS set for the recording of 2 episodes does not include any travel or accommodation.
3. Food and beverage rewards do not include any travel or accommodation.
4. The date of the FOUNDIS set visit will be at the discretion of the producer.
5. If you choose the reward for edited video highlights of your special event, you agree to provide your already filmed footage to STARSCRIBE PRODUCTIONS. You must specify the footage you'd like edited by reviewing the timecodes. Only one edit will be provided with no allocation for revisions. The edited video is subject to STARSCRIBE'S availability.
6. The Corporate Video reward is subject to a separate Terms & Conditions Video agreement which includes talent release forms and workflow approval that allows for minor revisions to the original edit. The filming and subsequent edit of your Corporate Video is subject to STARSCRIBE'S availability.
7. The FOUNDIS cast lunch reward will be at a Sydney location and date to be confirmed by the producers and be based on the cast's availability.
8. The advice session and lunch with Phyllis Foundis and Peter Herbert will be at a Sydney location and date to be confirmed by the producers and be based on their availability.
9. All Corporate Videos will be shot, edited and delivered prior to the FOUNDIS on-air date in January 2014. Subject to StarScribe Production's availability.

The Challenges
It's true. I don't have perky breasts. In fact, as a 42 year old, feisty Greek mother of two, I don't fit it into the stereotype of 'average TV talk show host'.* But that's okay. No sour grapes here, just the passion to create my own opportunities in the broadcast industry. It's more fun this way - and I get my own trailer. That's what it said in the brochure anyway.
* But then neither does Ellen - a fabulous role model and Covergirl to boot. Breathtaking inspiration. I want lashes like that.
Your average, garden variety funding body doesn't offer financial support for talk shows. It's fiction or it's nothing. But!
In the early stages of our show, and owing to our creative partnership with Television Sydney, the Community Broadcast Foundation came on board and granted us some initial funding to produce the pilot - thank you CBF! However, these guardian angels of the content world are few and far between - that's why this campaign - and YOU - are so important to our show's cause.
