It has been two and a half years since the songs of my debut album Ignite began to be written. Now, after an epic journey of self-discovery, months of preparation and refinement, vocal training from the singularly wonderful Erana Clarke and the chance to record with some of Australia’s best musicians and award-winning producer Phil Rigger, I am almost ready to launch Ignite and offer it to the world!

If you are wondering what to expect from Ignite, it is a collection of songs filled with grace, wit and wisdom. The songs were  inspired by my own journey into authenticity and joy. Some of them are cheeky and candid. Others are filled with deep vulnerability and insight. All of them offer messages of empowerment designed to ignite a spark in the heart of every person.

Musically, I’m told to my great delight that the album is a cross between the styles of Norah Jones, Carole King and a female Jason Mraz. Some songs are a bit funky or jazzy around the edges, while others are mellow and relaxing and call to the soul.

Sharing

This crowd funding campaign is so exciting for me, because it is the first opportunity I have had to offer these songs in a take-home form. Not only can you sign up to be the first to have a copy of the album, but by purchasing any of our dazzling packages or products, you are helping to fund the recording, production, printing and packaging of Ignite, enabling it to be launched into the world!

The album-related expenses I am looking to cover through the campaign are:

- 6 World class musicians: $9500
- Production by award-winning Producer Phil Rigger: $10000
- Album art, photography and first run of physical production: $10250

The remaining money covers the logistics of the campaign including:
 - The fees of hosting a crowd funding campaign
 - A gift to the Starlight Foundation
 - The cost of fulfilling the exciting packages I want to offer you!



As I receive support for this project, I feel it is really important to give back. The values of the Ignite project are Authenticity, Hope and Joy, and so I wanted to give to a veritable hope and joy factory: the Starlight Foundation. 5% of what we raise in this campaign will be donated towards the Starlight Foundation. In addition, what I would receive as the artist royalty for the song ‘Happy For No Reason’ will also be donated to the charity- hopefully giving kids in Australia a whole host of reasons to be happy!

My partner and I are moving to New York next year to pursue this musical adventure. This is very exciting but it means that we won't be in Sydney as regularly.
