Hi There. This Pozible campaign is the next step in our journey towards opening a community based school that WE want in the Western suburbs of Melbourne. More details are mentioned below, but we are a group of parents and teachers wanting a school that is right for want for our kids. Our philosophy is simple - a school where we don't just educate our children to pass exams, where we educate them to excel at life in general.

As you can imagine, this is a huge undertaking. We are not millionaires looking for a tax break. We are working people struggling with mortgages, kids, study, jobs and everything else that you are struggling with too. We cannot do this alone – hence this campaign. The details on what we will be spending the money on are listed below, but we are basically needing start-up capital to get registered and set up to get ‘real’ and be able to continue to deal with all the relevant stakeholders – Governments of all levels, Banks, Developers, Social Impact Investors etc. Below we go into more detail on the why we are doing it, extactly what we need the funds for, when & where will it be up and running and who we are. We are also on Facebook and have a website (www.GreenGullyEducation.com) just launched if you wish to hassle us o r if you just want to find out more. A personal note from Rachel Waugh:
In a nutshell I am like every other parent on the planet. All I want is the best for my two girls. We had decided on our most likely option of the school for our eldest and we organised for the usual tour and to fill out the wait list forms. Then the our world turned a little upside down when just a week before our tour the school closed very abruptly. In all honesty having lost the only option we liked that was locally available to us was very much like being lost at sea. For the better part of a year we drifted hoping someone would open something to fill the educational gap in Melbourne's West, but nothing happened. Then I drove past a derelict school site on my way to work one morning and it was like being struck by lightning, the wheels started turning and I began down the road to opening The Green Gully School.

The road has not been smooth or short and there has been a few plans fall by the wayside. But, after all our hard work we've grown our curriculum and offering to something we feel is very unique, very special and that frankly dwarfs the school I originally thought was going to be good enough for my girls. We now have in development the school of my dreams.

A school where we don't just educate our children to pass exams, where we educate them to excel at life.
A school that feels like family.
A school where we all work together to support and build our community.
A school that lives to share, our facilities, our knowledge and our passion.
A school that will support our children to discover who they are and their own talents at their own pace.
A school where recognises the value of teaching practical everyday skills and not just the curriculum.
A school where learning is not stuck only in the classroom.
A school that is beautiful and sustainable.
A school that will be a feature in our children's lives from Childcare, through Kindergarten and all through to VCE.
A school where the staff all work together for our children whether they are teachers or not.



We're not here just to change lives today through quality education. We're here to set our children up to world a better place for generations to come.

What we're up to

Right now our biggest obstacle is getting enough capital to secure our site for the school long term. We are in talks with a major Property Group about all the different leasing, purchase, building and renting options they are willing to run with. We are putting together some pretty attractive sponsorship proposals for businesses operating in our local area and we hope that if we can lock in even just a couple of these that we will have enough financial clout to borrow the rest or to convince the Property Group to take the plunge with us in a formal partnership. We are also seeking some mentoring from a few expert business people on getting the rest of our fundraising organised long term.
