Who Are We?

Elan Dance Est. is a creative establishment lead by culturally and linguistically diverse Creatives. It is built from the burning desire to foster multiculturalism by connecting everyday people both socially and emotionally through different art forms like dance. 

Together with a few beautiful souls, we have created a home for underdogs who just like us want to challenge the status quo.

A judgement free home, where they have the opportunity to come every week, forget about life's stresses and have a good ol' time.

To us, every thing is a celebration and for this reason we celebrate individuality, and show our participants the beauty where they once might have seen flaws. With every celebration there’s great music and, let’s just say, watching magic spark from all our dancers as they move to the best beats is Elan’s mission.  Why? Because troubles melt away, we make lasting connections, we release endorphins, we discover a sense of belonging. We find happy!

We are  adamant about offering a space where everyone feels welcomed and open to express who they are as individuals. We continue to encourage this mission by offering inclusive classes and events for people of all shades, all shapes, all skills, with all stories.

Why This Plead For Help?

After calling King Street Arts Centre home  for 18 years, we have found ourselves in the unfortunate position of no longer having access to the premises to continue to run our weekly dance classes and events as of October 2018.

The memories and, the community created at this venue has been nothing short of amazing. Starting merely from a dancehall class initiated from heart and the need for change, to building a company that offers not only dance lessons but life lessons.

Yes. With change comes great fear of the unknown but I guess it's only fair we had a taste of what we try so hard to instil in the general community and that is, finding confidence in doing things outside our comfort zone.

We are so grateful for the thousands of people who have walked into our classes and events over the years.  A special shoutout however, goes out to our beautiful wall flowers who have trusted us with their hearts and allowed us to guide them to memorable Elan experiences such as

- Television appearances with mentorship from artists like Kelly Rowland.
- Hosting international choreographers on tour for Usher , Britney Spears Rihanna and Chris Brown
- The first dance act to be featured on the international platform TEDxUWA
- Community events for City of Belmont, City of Wanneroo, City of Perth, City of Stirling,  Ausdance WA, Propel Youth Arts
- The first Australian Choreographer to surpass a million views on youtube for a dance video
- Fashion Shows like Face of Africa Australia  and Miss Africa Perth
- Workshops for numerous High Schools  and Universities around the country
- Workshops for charities such as Dance for Japan ,  Zero 2 Hero Radio Lollipop and Save the Children
- Numerous initiatives for causes like Mental Health Week , Harmony Week  and Show Dem
- Featured at national sports events like West Coast Eagles Game
- Wining numerous dance awards and competitions
- Training and mentoring some of Australia's most respected Creatives .

WE NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP GOING !

We need to raise at least $50,000 by the 1st October 2018 to assist with the initial fit out of your home.

Your new home in a few weeks will be located in  Perth City, with more convenience like parking, more classes, hosting of social and special events and, also providing hire space at competitive rates available to the wider dance and creative community.
