Max is a sinful, eerie horror that explores the evils lurking in the unseen, the depths, and the shadows.

7-year-old Charlie and his parents take a fishing trip to Sorrento beach on a cold and wintery day. But when Charlie reels in an old sneaker from the grimy depths of the bay, something else comes with it: Max, Charlie's new 'imaginary' friend. At first Max’s presence brings joy to Charlie, but his family's idyllic world shifts from solace to sinister as Max begins to work his dark and strange power over the boy.

We've taken excerpts from the films that inspired us - The Babadook, Stoker, and Black Swan - as goalposts for the visual feel and style of the film. We'll create a rich, textured world where light begets dark and nothing can be trusted - evil looms from corners, creeps through corridors and spills out into the night.

- Lighting (Hiring a HMI to light the beach at night)
- Camera Equipment (Lenses, Steadycam Operator and Red Card Hire)
- Post Production (VFX Artist to animate Max as a shadow and Sound Design)

But don't let's stop at $4000. Any extra money raised will be used to bump up the production value and to pay for festival entry, so that Max can make his way around the globe!
