‘HELP TO BUILD A NEW ART SPACE’

A new art space that supports South Australian based artists is almost here but we need your help to make it happen!

The ‘SA Art Collective’ is born from the Emma Hack Art Prize Finalists 2014-2017.  A total of 108 artists throughout SA from a range of art forms and genres will be offered to exhibit in exciting group exhibitions throughout the year while creating a community space for mentorship and inspiration.

Education for young and old, taught by the SA Art Collective will be offered throughout the year as well as opportunities to learn from other established artists and grow their practice. 

The gift shop will offer affordable art, cards, sculpture and other treats to suit any celebration. An easy parking space awaits clients to drop by and grab something that supports the art community here in SA

The space will also house 'ARTBAR', a monthly ‘cellar door’ in the city offering wine tastings or a bottle with friends from guest SA wineries.  Sit in our little oasis of colour, light and greenery while celebrating and supporting everything great about South Australia.

Emma Hack Gallery will also be featured within this space, offering mentorship and managing the space.

Our venue is ‘bare-bones’ at the moment.  We are seeking basic walls, shelving, bar build, fridges, lighting, paint and greening funds to get this venture off the ground and running!

ABOUT THE ‘EMMA HACK ART PRIZE’

In 2014, internationally renoun artist Emma Hack launched her ‘Emma Hack Art Prize’ for local South Australian Artists, the first of its kind in the state and personally donating $20 000 to SA artists over the past 4 years.

The competition opens each year with a different theme and artists are welcome to enter in any medium.

The exhibition was launched at the Adelaide Convention Centre and has since seen homes in The Adelaide Festival Centre and most recently at Burnside Village.  $5 000 was gifted to the winners each year with $2 000 for People’s Choice. 

The finalists and winners have gone on to great success and recognition, further pushing their art form and craft.

The SA ART Collective has now born 108 finalists over the 4 years of the Emma Hack Art Prize.  All finalists are skilled South Australian Artists that specialize in a range of painting, photography, textiles, sculpture and moving image.

These funds are for SA Art Collective and ARTBAR build only.

The Emma Hack Gallery will fund its own build and any other additional costs not raised during this campaign.

Potential challenges are funding and getting the space built in time for the opening mid October!
