Rising Tide (formerly Yggdrasil) have a beautifully recorded and produced album ready to be mastered and released and we now need your help to bring it into reality and promote it in Australia and beyond.
Our unique original sound delights audiences wherever we perform and with your help we can share our music with a much wider audience in Australia and further down the track in Europe and the World. We know we will reach enthusiastic audiences, so the first step is this project; Completing and effectively promoting this album in Australia in order to build our profile and good will. Your generous support is an investment in the future of original Australian music.
The album (yet to be named - please submit suggestions) was beautifully recorded and mixed by Myles Mumford at Atlantis Studios in Melbourne.

Rising Tide formed in 2006 as Yggdrasil (pronounced ig-dra-sil). Brought together by a love of traditional music styles from around the world, and a desire to create a unique and original sound. Instrumentation includes mandolin, mandola, 5-string violin, guitar, double bass and hand percussion. Performing original compositions, the group draws from the fertile musical backgrounds of its members, including Middle Eastern, Celtic and Jazz music traditions to create a sound full of depth and character.
Rising Tide perform works with an emphasis on odd-time polyrhythms seldom heard in popular music but common in other music traditions. From these rhythms emerge the unique melody and rich harmony that characterises Rising Tide’s music.
The group places a great emphasis on improvisation, leaving pieces open to interpretation. In this way, each performance is subtly different, with the musicians working together sensitively to allow the compositions to breathe and evolve.
