Ever wondered what happens to your body when you are exposed to Radiation?Radiate is a factual motion graphics animation taking people through the
concept of radiation, the science, its effects on the human body and an overview of how and which industries produce it.
Little known facts such as
Indigenous Australian's knowledge of sickness country,
Marie Curies death due her wearing a pendant made of Radium and the use of
ancient medical texts will take an audience of visual ride through the concept of radiation and a
microbe’s eyes view of the effects on our
health and dna.
The recent
Fukishima disaster is an example of misleading information by both the media, and the industry. This project will act as a
fact-driven narrative which outlines the concerns, the benefits in a way which is not bound by
political opinion. The nuclear industry has often be targeted as being very dangerous, but why? What is the actual effects of
radioactive particles on the human body?
The video will be released next year to coincide with the
2013 Fukishima Disaster tour when a number of Fukushima Residents will be coming to Australia to talk about the effects on their home.
The artists working on this project are
Sam Hoffmann, Paul Kalemba and
Nicky Forster.
The director Sam Hoffmann will be responsible for the look, narrative and the process. His creative
company 4pillars works on education, sustainability and media arts projects throughout Australia.

The artist Paul Kalemba will be providing a slick visual style and his amazingly skilled animations.
His recent animation is a good example of the style in which will be employed.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=euhkIesmW7ENicky Forster is an academic, sound designer and writer. She will be creating a sound piece to co-incide with the visual work.
Overseeing the project will be Cat Beaton. Cat has tirelessly worked on Education campaigns across Australia about the Nuclear Industry.
The animation is currently in pre-production phase. We have sketched out the series of images to be used and have written the script. We need to fund the production and post-production phase. To be able to buy the time needed to create these complex and highly detailed drawings and post-production effects.
