THE JUDGEMENT
The Judgement was written in 1913 on Yom Kippur - The Jewish Day of Atonement, where God decides who will live or die. It deals with an ageing father and an accomplished son navigating their relationship after the death of their wife / mother. Oscillating between banal domesticity and nightmarish horrors, this new work examines how we simultaneously realize and imprison ourselves through the lens of the omniscient, omnipresent Father.
Directed by Samara Hersch, current Female Director in Residence at Malthouse Theatre, this work will be devised and performed by a wonderful ensemble made up of Aaron Orzech, Mary Helen Sassman, Joshua Ferenbach, Daniel Schlusser and Rupert Evans. On the design front, this production sees the return of our wonderful team from META: Romanie Harper on set and costume, James Paul creating the sound design and Amelia Lever-Davidson lighting the work.
It will be presented at La Mama Courthouse in November 2015.
