APRIORI PROJECTS - winners of the "Festival Pick Award" for The Sydney Fringe 2013 are producing two new shows for the year.
We are excited to present the classic Dario Fo play in 2014
Accidental Death of An Anarchist - the demanding political absurdist farce - based on a true story of police brutality and combining Fo's trademark wit and Commedia styling with modern clowning and wordplay
Our Sydney Fringe 2014 Show is already in preproduction, a new work Mannequins.
A vicious satire on the entertainment industry, it's Citizen kane meets The Da Vinci Code meets The Devil Wears Prada.
We are glad to be offering limited discount tickets for these shows and for the dedicated subscriber into 2015 as well.

How The Funds Will Be Used
We are a self-funded company, so these advance ticket sales will help to bolster the initial investment costs required to mount a theatre production.
$25 - will help create posters and promotional goods
$60 - will cover the cost of a rehearsal venue for an afternoon
$100 - will assist with providing actors with snacks and drinks throughout the rehearsal weeks
$500 - will go toward securing the performance rights and royalties for the writer
$900 - will cover a week's theatre rental
$2500 - will help us arrange for future performances and tours into other cities to expand our audience

The Challenges
COMMUNITY
It's the nature of theatre production - financial risk and sustainability. But I aim to build not just a theatre company but a community around performance work, an ongoing conversation about the arts and an ensemble of actors, writers and directors to constantly push and develop our ideas together.
I am a serial volunteer and have worked with organisations such as Subtlenuance, Performance Space, Carriageworks, The Arts Platform and post, pitching in when they need some extra hands with small tasks here and there.
I do this because I believe that theatre is a gift, it's a privilege to be able to perform and this gift is made possible by the support of the community around us. I hope to work towards a world where audiences seeing live art and theatre is second nature for communities in this city, like going to the pub. Like making conversation with a stranger about sport - we can say - "Did you see that show the other night?"
It takes time to break down and re-frame attitudes towards the arts, that it's not simply something to consume, but something to inspire, to change lives, or to challenge, as well as entertain. We can make this a part of our day-to-day lives, as simple as turning on the television... and it's my mission to create that change in our culture towards a more diverse and accepting community.
