We're Circosis, one of the world's most remote circus and physical theatre companies, based in the red centre of Australia, Alice Springs.
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
It's been a long hard road to get here, but through hard work, determination and vision our show 'A Circus Affair' is about to embark on an international tour to Edinburgh Fringe Festival in the UK in August.
After the success of the seasons in Alice Springs, Darwin and the Adelaide Fringe Festival the show had significant interest from theatres in Edinburgh, and is now programmed in the Edinburgh Fringe at the Aviary theatre at ZOO from 2-10 August 2013.
WHY ARE WE DOING IT?
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the largest arts festival in the world, attended by over a million people including international promoters, presenters, venues and other festivals. It is the perfect platform to showcase 'A Circus Affair' to seek further opportunities. We
want to broaden our theatre networks for possible future tours, and receive
media reviews for future promotion.
WHAT DO WE NEED?
We need your help to get our specialised equipment to Edinburgh. We are asking for $3400 towards the total cost of $4400 freight.
We are investing a lot of our own money, and have also applied for a grant which may cover a third of the costs.

Sarah Mason is a co-founder and director of Circosis Circus Company. Since the inception of Circosis in 2004 she has been instrumental in providing leading edge social circus programs to empower marginalised youth on indigenous communities. With her relentless strive for standards of excellence in circus and physical theatre she has established a reputation as an extraordinary strongwoman and performer. She has been trained by the likes of circus artists from the Moscow Circus, Circus Oz, CirKidz, Lunar Circus and Westside Circus, as well as being part of the NICA Social Circus Program. Her hilarious alter-ego "Sarita Hoopla" has toured internationally to New Zealand, Central and South America. A highlight of her career was in 2009 when she trained with Russian trainers at Circo Arts in NZ where she graduated with a Diploma of Circus Arts.
Andrew (Cooky) Cook is a co-founder and director of the Circosis Circus Company. Having grown up on remote indigenous communities in Central Australia he has a unique view of the world that has translated through performance into quirky characters, influenced by the desert as well as greats such as Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. His passion for circus ignited 10 years ago when a local community circus cast him as the lead role in their first production. He went on to train with and alongside Lunar Circus, Blackrobats, Westside Circus and Cirkidz, and with a Diploma of Circus Arts from CircoArts, he specialises in juggling, acro-balance, unicycle and slack rope.
