The aim of my project is to create a tea parlour that enhances social interaction around the preparation and appreciation of tea.
I'm particular about my tea. I like it loose-leaf. I like it to be made in a teapot. I like to drink it from fine bone china. I like to be sitting somewhere comfortable while my tea steeps. Sometimes I like to be social when I take tea and sometimes I like to be on my own. I prefer honey in my tea to sugar. I love fresh herbal infusions. I like options. I don't like to rush my tea drinking. And I don't think I'm alone...
I've been dreaming about opening Porcelain for years and I'm ready to make it happen.
I'm searching for a space in Melbourne's inner North to house the collection and welcome guests. It will be open from the early afternoon through the evening and until late six days a week. I describe it as a 'low tea' kind of place, where there are lots of comfortable and cosy places to sit, alone or with company, and games and books to amuse and entertain.
I've been collecting beautiful teapots, tea cups, saucers, cake plates, comfortable chairs and tables and I just need a little help to bring the collection together.

The money raised will help me get some beautiful antique chairs reupholstered, it will help me buy some of the finishing touches for the parlour such as: lamps, low tables and cushions. It will also help me build the service counter in the parlour and the shelving for the collection of teapots, cups and saucers.
Any additional money raised above my target will be put towards more furniture so that more of you can enjoy the experience of Porcelain.
