Bryan is coerced into one "foolproof" robbery, that should finally free him from his family's debt to a local underworld mogul. Unfortunately, the brains behind the operation is a complete idiot.

Bryan works away as a casual staff member at a suburban movie theatre, his loose cannon friend Mark, doesn't work on anything but dreams. Joe is just getting out of prison and needs to get back on his feet so when he gets wind of the 2 friends planning to do a "Heist", he invites himself along for the ride - Just in case there is something to it.

Throw in a not-to-be-messed-with underworld loan shark, a local family hell bent on things staying as they are, a smoothie wielding / bingo running drug dealer and a very smart girl who has everyone in her trance and things are definitely going to heat up.

You just know, things are going to get out of hand...

Directed by Andrew Bennett, Written by Martin Williams and proudly produced by Scott Vickery and the team at WIST, The Margin Of Things offers an alternative view of Australia’s iconic Sydney.

It's a fresh take on the crime/comedy genre, highly influenced by much darker, emotional character journeys such as 'Two Hands', ‘In Bruges’ and ‘Brick’. The story has already found success as a stage play, running at the Greek theatre in Sydney, 2010.

We are after $12K to make the film, but we can get away with $8K if we cut back on just about everything, but the extra $4K will allow for a better camera, additional days, locations with costs associated. So that's what we've set the campaign up for $8K to start - because we are having a go at making the film no matter what..

Shooting slated for Feb / March 2013.

(That's right - 3 weeks away!!)

We have an awesome cast:

Bryan - Paul-William MaWhinney

Mark - Martin Williams

Joe - Radek Jonak

Alana - Michelle Pastor

Phil - Tom McCathie

We have an awesome Crew:

We have our crew - and they have been working away feverishly at getting things ready, and all are doing their bit - we even have a music composers from London, and our Editor is from Germany! Ya!

P.S. the soundtrack to the trailer is by Joel Sarakula - one of our great team of composers.

Many of the team have been on the film since November 2011, which is just over a year, and we wouldn't be able to make the film without their dedication and commitment to the team, so thank you to all on the team.

We have awesome locations:

We want to show the other side of this great city, which has many sides. Places like Balmain, Rozelle, Leichhardt, Summer Hill, Dulwich Hill, Marrickville, Enmore, Newtown, Petersham, Lewisham, Chippendale, Alexandria, Randwick, Clovelly, Glebe, Wentworth Park, Bankstown, Sydney City, Woolloomooloo, Darling Point, Rose Bay and of course The Cross, will be in the film.

What do we need?

We are going to shoot this film in February and March, over a number of 3 day weekends. That is fixed and we are sticking to it. What we need is yourinterest and involvement in the project.  If you like what you see, donate towards this and help us get the film off the ground. It can be any amount, but we do need to hit $8K to start production, please give what you can.

Where is the film going to go?

The film will be entered into both local and international Film Festivals, these will include: Sundance Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival, Singapore Film Festival and maybe the Welsh international Film Festival.
