F Meat is a sci-fi drama. Briefly, this is what it's about:
“In a grimy metropolis of the future, a CEO interviews for a successor to his synthetic meat empire. He must take extreme measures to ensure his legacy remains – despite its disturbing secret.”

The script has been written and fine-tuned over the course of 3 years by Sean Bell, with Jeremiah Galea coming on board to help complete the final draft in 2013. The two writers are film buffs with a history of making short films together.

Although most of the production is being funded by the filmmakers themselves (with time and labour being donated for free!), we are just short of an amount that will enable us to go into production.
The film is a continuation of Sean's lifelong love affair with movies. It will be 6th independent short film he has directed, but the first with a budget behind it. Contrastingly, Sean works in television where budgets have allowed him to direct countless shoots and create polished work. This is the next necessary step in translating his professional skills into a film project with the same kind of resources.
F Meat is also being made by a great group of people who believe in the project and are generously devoting their time and energy.
In 2013, Vanessa Barrett joined the film as Line Producer, bringing a wealth of TV and film experience to the project. Shortly afterward, Genevieve Graham also joined as Co-producer, having recently worked on a Tropfest finalist film.

In 2014, Emilio Abbonozio joined as Director of Photography, with ideas aplenty about how to tell this unique story. He was followed by Groove Q, who will be creating the film's music and sound design.

SO WHY HELP?
Filmmaking is a bit of magic, and this is a great opportunity to be involved in a film!
"Yes" is one of the greatest things someone can say to you - a word that starts off so many great adventures in life. All the people involved in F Meat thus far have said "yes", donating their time and energy to telling a great story.
By saying "yes" to making a contribution, you are:
- Giving yourself a warm and fuzzy feeling by helping someone
- Making a unique Australian film
- Reaping various rewards on offer (see rewards on the side of this page)
- Helping us realise our dream
- Progressing our careers (it will lead to film festivals and more films!)
- Bringing a story on paper vividly to life
- Supporting indie filmmakers
In case you missed it at the top, here is the campaign video:
How The Funds Will Be Used
Your generous contributions will be used to actually shoot the film (production) and put it together (post-production).
Your investment will cover:
- equipment hire such camera gear, lights and sound recording devices
- set pieces
- props
- wardrobe
- visual effects
- colour grading
- mastering
- storage media such as hard drives
- film festival entries
- food for crew on shoot days (an army marches on its stomach!)
Pozible total = $7000
Many people are already donating their time and energy for free, without which the budget would be astronomical!
$7000 is what we need to raise here on Pozible, to combine with our own funds in order to cover the above costs.
The Challenges
Nailing the performances from the 2 lead actors is key. There is a lot of dialogue and intense interaction between the main characters.
Creative a striking visual feast, despite a small budget, will be another challenge. We will need to use light, shade and art direction cleverly to achieve this.
The visual effects (in post production) will be very labour-intensive and time consuming. 3D models, textures and animation will need to come together to set our dystopian futuristic scene.
Please be sure to keep checking this page as well as fmeat.net for the latest on the project!
