Sydney-based actor, Shaelee Rooke, was recently accepted as one of only 14 actors from around the world into the Masters of Professional Acting course at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in the UK.
The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School was opened by Laurence Olivier and is one of the three drama schools in the prestigious UK Conservatoire of Dance and Drama, along with the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the London Academy of Dramatic Art. Bristol Old Vic alumni include Jeremy Irons, Naomie Harris and Pete Postlethwaite. The Masters of Professional Acting is a one-year, intensive full time course that focuses on classical acting traditions as well as contemporary methodologies.

Shaelee hopes to emerge from Bristol a versatile actor – professionally
trained and ready to work, on stage or screen. While she will be
spending some time away from home, Shaelee insists that she is committed
to the Australian Film and Theatre Industries and intends to return to
Australia upon completion of the program.
While this is an excellent opportunity, it comes at a steep cost. The price of international school fees as well as the cost of living in the UK for a year will be very expensive. While Shaelee intends to personally fund this trip as much as possible, additional donations, no matter how big or small, are much-needed and will be very much appreciated.
