Winterwares Ceramics Studio
Update
Hello and a huge thank you for your support, comments, shares and pledges on my campaign so far!
Now that I have hit the target to fund my kiln I have another goal in sight. I'd love to raise further funds to cover the cost of the kiln installation, the power upgrade at my studio and the kiln props and furniture. If I can raise an additional $6000 above my original goal I can cover all these costs and focus my energy on what I love the most. Making lovely Winterwares pieces and holding mindful making workshops.
Since the campaign has launched I have had some beautiful and heartfelt nominations for places at my workshops. As a result of your support I will be able to gift six workshop places in the new year to people who need it most. They will be able to take some time-out from the stresses of their everyday life and experience a day of mindful making at Winterwares.
Thank you for believing in me and supporting my vision, it means the world to me to have your kindness and encouragement.

My story
Over the last two years I have been on a personal journey. Battling burnout, I left my office job to embrace a slower pace. To focus on doing things with purpose and intention.
I enrolled in my first pottery class hoping I’d feel grounded and fulfilled while making something beautiful with my hands. Working with clay has given me time and space to savour the everyday moments in my life that bring me joy.
This all led to starting my ceramics studio, Winterwares.
My Studio
Over the past year I’ve invested a lot of time, energy and money into building my studio. The kiln I have was the perfect size to start my practice, but I’m at a point now where I need to upgrade it for Winterwares to grow. The kiln I have is too small for me to keep up with my orders and commissions.
For example, I can only fit five salad bowls in my current kiln. In my new one I'll fit closer to 30! Right now, I have shelves in my studio getting fuller and fuller with a backlog of ceramics waiting to go into the kiln.
With your help I can buy a new kiln that will let me grow my practice. I can also offer more workshops in my studio, something I’m so passionate about.
Giving back
For me, offering workshops is a way for me to share what I’ve learnt with my community. A day in the Winterwares studio gives people a chance to relax and unwind. It’s a space where people can feel grounded, connected and fulfilled through working with clay.
I started my ‘Mindful Making’ project as a way to offer this enriching workshop experience to those in the community who really need it. Through the program, you can nominate a friend who would really benefit from a day of mindful making in my studio to attend one of my workshops for free. I currently offer the program on a cost recovery basis. With a new kiln I could run a workshop once a month!
Please assist me to continue on my journey with Winterwares. You’ll enable me to spark joy in people’s lives and inspire a slower, more intentional way of living.
How The Funds Will Be Used
With your amazing support, I will use the money towards the cost of a new kiln, $9000 will go part way to covering the cost and I will fund the remaining amount myself.
The Challenges
I have quotes from the kiln supplier and it will take three weeks to arrive and be installed from when I order it. I have a place ready and waiting for it at Stackwood where my studio resides. I have had an electrician inspect and quote on installation and I can't foresee any problems with getting it up and running.
