Hey music lovers, friends and supporters!

My name is Siobhan Corcoran and I am a singer, songwriter and instrumentalist. Thank you for taking some time to check out my project - recording my debut album! I have been working towards this for many years and I am pretty stoked to say it's finally happening.

I will be recording in Hobart (yes, in the middle of winter) in a beautiful old theatre and recording studio. I am working with a fantastic sound engineer and a great band. The recording, mixing, mastering and final pressing will be happening over August and September 2014. The album will be officially released in October supported by shows in NSW, Tas, Vic, and QLD throughout this coming summer.

I have spent half of my twenty-four years on this earth writing and playing music in various forms. In the last few years I have been a regular performer as a solo singer-songwriter, in a duo, as a lead guitarist, as fiddle player and a singer.  The songs I have chosen for the album have been played in a bunch of great venues throughout NSW, QLD, Vic and Tasmania. They still ring true for me and I hope you find they hold some truth for you too. They are inspired by love, travel, connection to place and nature and many other human experiences. Though I usually perform solo and recently with a loop station, most of the songs were actually written with a band in mind. I'm very excited to have some talented musicians working with me on this album. Isaac Gee on double bass and Nicko Bird on drums and percussion.

Costs of the Project

Recording and mixing $4000
Payment for Musicians $1100
Mastering $1000
Pressing of 500 CD's with cases made with recycled materials $1100
Album Artwork $600
Pozible hosting fee $ 200

Total: $8000

I am aiming to cover most of the costs of the studio recording and mixing ( $4000) with this pozible campaign.

If my campaign is successful Arts Tasmania will support me through Crowbar with additional funding of $2,000. That means that if I reach my target, Arts Tasmania is going to contribute an additional 50% which is amazing and a fantastic opportunity. This will go towards paying the musicians and most of the mastering.

It will cost me about $2000 to get the album artwork done, the CD's pressed and pay the pozible hosting fee. I will be covering this with my savings.

If we reach above the target of $4000 for this campaign, the extra money will go towards making a film clip for the single.

If we reach above $5000, every contributor will receive an invitation to an exclusive supporters concert and an invitation to be part of the film clip!

The songs are written and arranged, the band is on board, the studio is booked! I am doing as much pre-production as possible to ensure that the studio time is spent in the most productive and positive way. My biggest challenge will be reaching my pozible target so that I can finance this. If we don't reach it, the recording will still happen though it will take me a bit longer to raise the funds and current opportunities might be missed.
