'No Prior Records' is a TV pilot that we are filming, as a pitch to various media/TV stations in an attempt to get production funding for a first season (6 episodes).
We have been working on the characters since 2006, and have spent the last 8 months writing the Pilot script, and story arch for Season 1.
The story follows Jonathan Michaels, a senior Rep at one of Australia's largest music labels- Titan Records. Jonathan also handles the Independent department, which has a large handful of very talented artists, incorporating the genres of Punk Rock, Oz Hip Hop and Country. Amongst these artists are Tex Ewers, Skull and Crossbones and The End.
When the CEO of Titan, Charles, decides to suspend all of the Independent artist contracts, to make room for the top 6 contestants in the Australian TV reality singing competition "Wow Factor", Jonathan leaves, taking the independent artists with him, and starts his own small label: No Prior Records.
What follows is a David Vs Goliath type battle, as both companies race toward the ARIA's.
No Prior Records is being Produced by Stev Makhlouta (Re-Affiliated Productions) and Steve Browne (BlakandWit Productions and Leopard Promotion), characters created by Steve Browne, and Script written by Steve Browne and James Green. We have several combined years of background and experience in the Film and Television industry, from Directing, editing, story boards, camera and even lecturing at the Film and Television Institute of WA. We also have an extensive background in the Perth music scene.
We will use the funds raised through 'Pozible' on equipment, key people, costume, props and to secure locations. Some of the names (Cast and Crew) that we have involved are David Smyth (You may know him as the 'iinet' guy), Richard Stables, Noah Norton, Ophelia Moroder, Clint Lawrence and a variety of other leading Industry people.
