The "Leg Up" project is an initiative to try and help talented Artists, Making Dreams Become A Reality Through Crowd funding and Sponsorship, our goal is to help aspiring artists realize their dreams through promotion and funding, which is then distributed down through to the artists picked to get a "Leg Up" the funds can be used for recording time, CD printing, exposure/promotions etc.

Thru this crowd funding i am hoping it can help fund various opportunities like run a contest thru a company which helps run competitions on facebook, called Wildfire, the competition i am planning is called "The Official Promo Comp", where artists, upload a YouTube clip (whether its a video or pic with music playing) and the Australian hip hop community can vote for the top ten "peoples champs" (they also go on a mixtape/CD, called "Official cos we said so"), then it goes to judging (I'm hoping to get a few big names on the judging panel) for the winner of the Official Promo Competition II (and hopefully cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd)

Depending on how much funding i get, i wanna keep releasing Cd/Digital downloads showcasing Australian Hip Hop Talent on a quarterly basis...

Hopefully lots of big things coming, if i can get the funding it'll hopefully be a positive outcome for Australian Hip Hop as whole, the more money we can raise, the more i can do to help up-and-coming artists get the exposure they need.

We wanna try an do everything in our power to inspire artists to recognize their dreams can be a reality, nothing is impossible, sometimes we just need a "Leg Up" (there's that word again).

What will you do with the funding?

• As above, i wanna run the Official Promo Competition II which will benefit artists with more exposure
  
• Depending on funding, i wanna select certain artists to be given a grant to help fund their music
• Help Run and Maintain a Website
• Help fund future projects like the "Official Cos I Said So" Mixtape (hopefully i can bring one out every 3-4 months), run works shops, even small concerts etc.
  

Who am i, and what is my background?
My name is Steven Middleton AKA Tru Blue Emcee, I am the founder of the Official Aussie Hip Hop Page on Facebook, i have help build this page to nearly 9000 strong members, and i am looking to make the page even bigger and better in the next few months.

Being an artist my self (www.facebook.com/trubluespage) i know how hard it is to get a "leg Up" in an industry that is very hard to get noticed, so my mission is to help those struggling artists realize their dreams, and hopefully influence some self motivation within themselves to make what seems impossible a reality...

My Funding Goal?
My goal is to try and hit around $500 - $1000 (of course the more we can get, the more we can do with our promotions and competitions) to help fund the project and give prizes at the end of my pages competition, So please dig deep as every dollar helps :-)
