On the 16th of July, on a cold winters Sydney evening Ainslie came bounding down her loft ladder (which is quite dangerous when you think about it) and burst into the kitchen (which is impressive considering there is no door). Leah stood stunned while Ainslie ranted if she could not put on this play she would die a slow and heartbroken death. Leah, being Leah, asked to read the script. Leah read the script.

On the 19th of July, Leah burst out of her room (totally less impressive because she has a door) and screamed through the house "if I do not produce this play, I will die a slow and heartbroken death." After excessive squeals of uncontrolled enthusiasm Leah and Ainslie presented the play to Unpathed Theatre Company, of which Leah is a co-founder, and asked for their support. With the green light the project started to immediately take shape with Vashti Pontaks demanding that she direct this play or suffer the same fate of a slow and heartbroken death. Casting the gorgeous and talented Scott Lee as Tommy, well that was a breeze.

Over the last 8 weeks more and more brilliant and talented creatives have answered the call of Shanley, thankfully one of them was Shanley himself granting us the rights to The Dreamer Examines His Pillow.
With posters designed, a rocking trailer shot and edited and a set designer waiting in the wings, our pre-production is well under way. But as you know good will and talent can only take us so far. Here's where you come in, you are reading this because you are a friend of ours and you want to help us save the drama for the stage. :-)

It is really hard asking friends for money, but we know you understand. Please help us make this dream come true. Whatever you wish to contribute, big or small, we will be eternally grateful... or at least until the next play ;-)
