In October I will be undertaking a four week specialised Traditional Mexican Textile Artist in Residence with Arquetopia, located in Puebla & Oaxaca. Arquetopia is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to promote social transformation in Mexico through cultural exchange with artists & designers.
As the residency is self-funded the $3000 raised will go directly to the organisation to pay for my lessons, accom & materials.
Funds raised beyond the initial amount will firstly go to Romesh De Silva, the amazing videographer who kindly spent days shooting & editing my film out of the goodness of his wonderful heart. I would like to contribute a percentage of the total to him as a token of my undying gratitude.
If there's lots extra (hopefully!), the funding will go toward a week long professional development tour of New York - I intend to connect with colleagues in NY, undertake a workshop with renown printmaker Christopher Shore and visit the Guggenheim and MOMA.
