What is our project about?
EDGES is a contemporary coming of age show by award winning creative team Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The work is comprised of a series of witty and evocative songs about self-discovery and the transition into adulthood. With four mid-twenty something performers, audiences will easily identify with the pop-culture references, themes of change and the freakishly familiar situations EDGES explores. But beyond it youthful appeal, the show is a compelling and emotive ride that gets audiences of all ages reflecting on their younger years - where mistakes defined who you became, love seemed to last forever and reality hadn’t yet hit.Who are we?
We are Tegan Jones and Emma Caldwell and we love all aspects of putting on theatre, from producing to performing in them. Boutique theatre was started so we could try and deliver professional quality contemporary theatre that is intimate, innovative and provoking. We feel we have brought together an impressive, experienced and fun group of people together to take on the demanding task of putting on a show. Why do we need your help?
Our funding goal is $1000. One of the areas that we think can make or break the quality and enjoyment of watching a live performance, especially when music is involved is the SOUND. You can have every other part of the production perfect but if an audience can not hear what is going on, you might as well go watch a silent film. It is such a crucial element to get right.
We want to be able to afford good quality sound equipment but unfortunately it is getting more and more expensive. We have been lucky enough to receive a quote of $1298 to cover all our sound needs and we are hoping to raise $1000 to help cover those costs.
