'The Kinship' is a social enterprise set up to help Musicians to develop and get their music out. It involves a NFP organisation as well as record label. The founding members of The Kinship are Mattriks and Even Dawn, and the organisation is growing to include a number of other artists and community activators.
This Collection is intended to bring awareness to the songs and stories of 15 awesome, original Melbourne acts, and the endeavours of The Kinship as well as providing members to services which support them in developing their performance art.
The album comes loaded onto a USB keyring, with extra goodies including interviews with the artists, bios, pics and videos. Because the content is available on USB it can be browsed on any computer at any time, and makes it easy to share with your friends and family.
The Kinship are currently working closely with the artists to help make their content be as fabulous as possible. By supporting the project you'll help to cover some of the costs associated with producing the project, including: purchasing the branded USB keyrings, mastering the songs, interviewing the artists, and organising and promoting the event at Ceres Environment Park, in Brunswick on Saturday April 14th.

The Kinship Collection Vol 1 USB keyring as well as a collection of 4 CDs from original Melbourne acts. Before forming The Kinship we were involved in a project called 'Mind-Heart Media'. In 2009 MHM produced and released: 'Made Outta Motion' by Mattriks & the B.O.K. (a novel record of events, cosmic hip-hop comic), 'Rel8ed' by BabbleKin (3 MCs and 1 DJ, homegrown Aussie hip-hop), 'Blend 44' by Jshwa (Jonathan Shaw's extraordinary alt-folk offering), 'Magick Love' by Priestessa (Marlene Samson's exquisite operatic electro-pop).
