Excited by the reception of our previous work, together Sid and I have decided to collaborate to create a children’s picture book titled Cogs. The premise of the story is the simple journey of a tiny robot and its desire to find itself and its purpose in a world where everyone else seems to know their place.
The themes of not fitting in and not being sure of yourself or what you should do in life are what make this story tick.
This story is aimed to be a very young child’s book, around 5 years of age. Although the kind of themes used will be useful for and older or even younger audiences, depending on the kid!
How The Funds Will Be Used

First and foremost, the funds will be used to help cover the costs of printing the books themselves. This alone is estimated to be over $4000.
Secondly for framing and display of the artworks that are our illustrations, this would include supporting our launch, which would be in an art gallery to show both the artwork and the book simultaneously. We are hoping to have the framing and launch covered for under $1000.
Thirdly for continued marketing and advertising of our project. Any funds we have left over after the things listed above and production and postage of all the rewards to our supporters, Sid and I would hope to spend the remaining funds to continue to market our project and increase our audience.

Your very own copy!
You will receive a copy of the finished Cogs picture book, signed by both the illustrator and the author.
Signed, Sealed, Delivered
Sidelicious ! You will receive a copy of the finished Cogs picture book, signed by both the illustrator and the author. Your copy of Cogs will have original hand drawn robot sketches in the covers by the illustrator Sid, making it a one of a kind copy!
Let's swap stories...
The author Thomas Forbes will come to your school, play date or reading group to talk about anything story related. From reading his work and sharing other stories, to how and why he decided to write and create stories of his own. Happy to join in with any standing study groups or themes going around the classroom. (If you are not based in Tasmania then we can arrange a Skype alternative!)
Wander with us
You will receive individual, high definition prints of five of our selected illustrations. Perfect for school rooms, playgroups or bedrooms. "selected" means that because not every single picture in the book is as exciting as some of the others, we’ll only be sending from the selection of more interesting finished pictures. We can’t have you being disappointed now :)
A piece of the magic
Aren't you special!? For $250 one fantastic person will receive the signed finished book, the five individual prints and one of the original paintings, signed and framed, sent to your address with a personal hand written thank you for all of your support! (to be posted after the launch/gallery show)
